Hi team,
For those going, practical info and tips.
General FIFA Ballot is now open. Anyone from any country can apply, with a window from December 11th to Jan 13th. It doesn't matter when you apply.
The Participating Member Association, ie NZ Football, has an allocation of roughly 3-4000 tickets per game. (8% of 'sellable' tickets after FIFA sponsors and corporates is actually more like 5-6%), Administered through a NZF ballot, which gives some people codes to go through and select, which are then confirmed (or some may be denied) after that window closes later in January.
However, imagine competing with just New Zealanders for this, vs competing with the whole world for the 30k or so. In 2022, FIFA open ballots had 5x the applications.
So, some opinion or prediction here, but NZF ballot is best because:
1. Better chance of tickets.
2. The categories are nicer, eg Tier 2 prices are in Tier 1 locations, closer to the pitch.
3. We will all be together, not dotted around the stadium.
Flying Kiwis will have an allocation of a block of seats within the NZF supporters area.
So:
1. Go FIFA.com in the general and compete against any fans from around the world.
2. Or go NZF and compete with kiwis, to sit with kiwis.
You must:
Register and validate email here for NZF ballot here. CLOSES SUNDAY.
If you're interested in active support with The Flying Kiwis within this, let us know here too for email updates and actions required.
