Sounds like one idiot if it turns out to be true.

All i heard was someone say "you're not going to win because your a homo" which didnt seem like such a big deal to me...and theres no telling over the TV which group of supporters is saying/doing such things.

EDIT: Haha snap Buffon. Yeah i guess some people would take offence to that now that i think about it huh. Having only seen the game on TV I have no idea as to who made that comment, do you? Pretty bad that such things go on.

Name and shame!

Wonder if the "You're a homo" comment will go unnoticed, given that certain members of this forum felt any reference to the homosexual community was homophobic and to be condemned. Just a thought.

Three for me, and two for them.

Think it was the man in the brown jacket doing the monkey noises. Not sure.

Probably nothing remotely racist in it though

Why do monkey noises then? SIlly thing to do since its pretty universally known to be racist, particularly at football games...supporters have been banned from stadiums for doing it.

Especially with the game being televised it was a pretty stupid thing to do, racist or not.

almost as 'disturbing' was the truly tragic "bash bash bash" on a drum or bucket or whatever it was

IMO it just gives the media another opportunity to rubbish our sport. They all seemed pretty pissed up though

The drum banger is always an irritant.

Doubt the media will pick up on it but if for some reason they did you can't say it's not justified. Remember last year that Cantab bloke got banned because of racist comments. Monkey noises are a stupid thing to do irregardless of how much the perpetraitor may of had to drink, same goes for saying "you're not going to win because you're a homo".

Three for me, and two for them.

Exactly my point, it doesnt matter if it was intended to be racist or not,it is widely accepted and can be easily interpreted as being so. The game was televised, so the whole country could hear it, the media can latch onto it,not good. Stupid, stupid thing to do. Having said that it is unfair to down a whole sport or group of supporters based on one person when 99% of behaviour is good.

So lets just get this thread back on track to talking about the game, and the prospect of a grand final next week!

Agreed.

I thought Auckland City looked knackered towards the end. Siggy look liked he'd run a marathon (wouldnt be suprised if he had considering the amount of work he did), Suri looked out of place in midfield and his mistakes began to creep in when he got tired.

Haha i made this big long post then closed the browser

In summary: Siggy was awesome and cant wait to see him here next seasom
Both sides looked knacered towards the end...they gave it their all.
Halstead looked knackered for most of extra time which is a worry since he came on as a sub!) but still managed to produce some magic when required
What a f**king game!!!

I'm surprised Suri wasn't dragged at the half because he was pretty average. The young fella Miyonsaba was lucky to come off injured because he wouldn't have made the 2nd half either.

That was probably one of Tamati Williams better performance I've seen from him too.

Team Wellington and Auckland City just finished playing 210 minutes of football within a week for an aggregate score of 6-6. You really couldn't get a razor blade between those two teams at the moment except maybe to say that TW's timing was slightly better!

A great effort by both teams and a great advert for the NZFC.

Congrats to Team Wellington - hope you guys have a great day on Sunday - not sure who I want to win though. I hate Waitak but want us to qualify for the O League.

I don't want to take away from the performance and the win but I thought O'Leary got a lot wrong and most of it seemed to go against ACFC. Jordan got taken down around the box at least 3 or 4 times and O'Leary just waved play on and another time he was shouldered in the back going for a header and we got nothing. I also thought given the penalty TW recieved ACFC should've had one for Imray taking Jordan out in the area in the first half of extra time.

Siggy struggled late on playing in a DM position and maybe the extra running did him in - I've never been a fan of Suri's either but I think losing Semo, Sykesy, Liam and Smudger hurt us more than we realised.

Anyway just my thoughts from watching it live on the day, haven't seen it on telly so haven't seen replays etc.

Enjoy your final lads.

A number of the Jordan decisions on TV seemed, how shall I put this... 'Typically Jordan'.  I thought he was lucky not to get booked on a couple of occasions.

You going to be there ?

Undecided at the moment mate - I should bite the bullet though I guess.

Talked to a member of the Waitak squad who was there watching on the day who also thought O'Leary was wearing yellow and black for more than one reason.

I was at the game and even though it wasnt one of his better games I don't think the referee cost anyone the game. 0'leary doesnt help anyone out but he is probably the pick of the bunch. I hear hester is doin the final and he is just useless.

I agree Marama. That really is a poor call from NZF.
