What do you think?

Dom post had a very short article on the derby. Disappointing given there was a write up from NZF they could have used and given it was the reserves first game.

As long as its up some time this century then thats ok.

Ever thought that the IT contractors delivery it may be running late? Or did you ignore that because it doesn't align with you boring, repetitive, obnoxious, miserable narrative.

If you don't like thing are done. Do something about it. Start a blog. Do a podcast. Take some photos. Interview some players. Much more productive than being a keyboard warriors with the benefit of anonymity.

Again fair call! If someone that is being paid to do a job cant do it then just do it yourselves if only life was that simple?

Next time someone has to wait for an operation then why dont they just do it themselves or if people moan about being stuck in traffic just build there own roads.

Maybe company doing website hasnt got it done in time no problem anyone who doesnt like it just be a hero like 2nd best and write a blog etc and everything will be fine.

Or just maybe it wasnt commisioned in time by NZF? Who knows

Web site just been window shopped, sort of Farmers content with a K&S look.

ASB Premier content is still bollocks.

The whole of football except the paid boffins at NZF can see the content and updates are way behind the YF site.

next season do you think they will disband the Wanderers and look at another Auckland franchise? or will they look at Youngheart or Nelson to fill the spot? I don't think Auckland United is organised enough /has deep enough pockets to take a ASB Premiership spot. thoughts?

I thought the Wanderers was done specifically for the home WC because it would not be the best look to go out in the round robin phase. It would kill the interest in the tournament for some people (and gates) if NZ were out early. If they made the play offs, that creates a bit of hype....

Interesting question Chopah. I had heard that Rob Sherman is conducting a review of the ASBP and I think the league as a whole is up for review end of this season? Or is it next? I have heard that he tends to favour a club based national league but whether that happens and/or is right for our landscape is a different thing.

Is there a player base for another Auckland side? I think Waikato have done well this year under Smith to have largely only 2-3 Auckland guys I think? Coombes, Greenhalgh I think are it so its been good for them to go local and breakaway from the Auckland connection. Seemed ok in the highlights against TW.

And ACFC would still want to have a ton of imports to beat the other rag tag lot.

To be honest probably not If/when they go then may just stay with 8 teams and do away with the bye that the Phoenix Reserves inclusion requires

yeah i guess so - although i do think they do want to increase the amount of teams - my thinking was:

Wanderers out:

2 of the following 4 in (at least)

Auckland United

Wairapapa United

Youngheart Manawatu

Nelson Falcons

I think long term they would prefer 10 teams.

Here's an interesting stat:

Our own ASB Premiership is the highest-scoring top tier league of any country in the world.

This table ranks 331 leagues, major and minor on average goals-per-game.

The ASB Premiership sits at number 16 with an average of 3.68 goals per game.

The leagues ranked above it are lower tier leagues in their country (or in Tahiti's case just the play-off rounds of the league)

http://www.soccervista.com/soccer_leagues_ordered_...

A-League is number 97 with 2.87 goals per game.

English Premier League is only number 176 with 2.58 goals per game.

The list does contain a lot of very minor leagues - as well as the world's major ones - but is still indicative.

Has this been the best ASB Premiership season so far? Is the first time since I follow the competition that all teams got to be in playoffs spots for at least one round

Not necessarily but it seems from all accounts it was a rubbish performance from TW. Teams do have them but it would seem that they did the exact same thing as they did at Kiwitea when I went to watch them.

Lovemore and Boyd share Golden Boot with 10 each. Who'd a thought that at season's beginning?

Is that only the 2nd time the golden boot has been won by a kiwi since 2004?

I remember Pearce. Did someone beat G. Little in the earlier years as well?

I was on my phone otherwise I would have looked there JR.

So I was right.  Only the 2nd time in 11 seasons the leading goal scorer has been a kiwi.  We've won as many A-League Golden Boots (more if you count Archie)
