Doesn't actually bother me. I think it should be at kiwitea street. I'm suggesting that to be consistent, some of you lot should be unhappy at the decision.

FT didnt have a stand so should have been moved. Kiwitea can't hold enough capacity, so should be moved.

But it seems "whatever happened to home advantage" only applies to ACFC. They should get to enjoy home advantage, but anyone else should be made to move the game to a more suitable venue.

Capacity of the ground is totally irrelevant!!!
Once filled to capacity then no more spectators are admitted , The increased crowd will be mainly Ba supporters so why would the home club want to accomodate them more of them??
The facilites at the ground are far superior to Fred Taylor Park which is in breach of the intial regulations to be granted an NZFC franchise and other than when Waikato play at Ngaruawahia and Team Wellington at Miramar (although I personally prefer DF Park to Newtown but only on a nice day!!!) are without peer the worst in the league
Im guessing the whole not fit for a Final debateb stems from the fact that in 2011 Waitakere Utd and NZF realised that its a dump not befitting a Final and moved the game to Trusts and the question is why this didnt happen this year

Yes because it was originally a requirement that you had semi-decent facilities... this was when the NZFC was going to raise standards etc for all sides of the game...we can all laugh now ...

PS :  who actually wins from the scum being forced into the last century , Im suspicious that it might just be OFC s embarassment  at the sight a barely populated sheep paddock , hosting a semifinal of their Golden Competition...

again tho I wish the westies could hold it at the Paddock ,. if nothing else it might force NZF to take a stand on the publics requirements in this century...

So your issue wasnt that the final was being played there at all, it was that there isn't a stand and they shouldn't have been allowed to play there all season. So either nobody wanted the final to be moved specifically, or you were protesting every waitakere home game should have been moved.

I think not. You wanted their final moved for lack of a stand, and you don't want your game moved despite a lack of capacity. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Capacity is also hardly irrelevant, finals and other such big games are moved to bigger venues all the time. I'm agreeing that it should be at kiwitea, but I also think waitakere were within their rights to host theirs at FT. You can't have it both ways.

Fred Taylor is a dump for any senior mens football ie NL or ASBP the only thing it has going for it is Parking
And there was a stand for the Final but was uncovered so was kinda pointless considering that there is no shelter from the Sun or Rain
FFS they cant even provide covered benches for coaches and subs
The point I made was why was it considered a dump in 2011by club and NZF and not in 2013?

i may have missed the answer to this question, but are there actually regulations for OFC champions league games in regards to grounds and facilities etc?

i am well aware of the ASBP ones - just curious if there are any in OFC champions league.

Im not aware of any but then again why would I im not involved with any club competing in it
Mind you seen as following ASBP regulations appear to be optional I suspect any OFC ones would hold similar sway

When I think about it, when the competition started, all teams had covered stands so the point made is not technically correct.

Waitakere - The Trusts and had a stand built there after season 3 I think but then moved

ACFC - noted

Waikato - Was at Waikato Stadium. Moved

HBU - Park Island, still there

YHM - FMGC stadium but then moved

TW - Newtown Park but then moved

Otago - Carisbrook then the Caledonian then moved but have tried to stay at a covered location

Canty - English Park, still there.

I think the point is more that the standards of the competition has not been upheld but really its all semantics....

The point made is 100% correct
The stand at Trusts Stadium was not in use until the 4th season so clearly the ground and club didnt adhere to regulations at time of entry into the league!!!
They put up a rather pathetic cover that covered about 4 people in the "Red Zone" (Wonder what happened to that rather sad attempt at a  suuporters club) but it blew down after a couple of games
And YHM Started at Memorial Park in the 1st before moving to Speedway stadium in 2nd Season

Again, I'm not really disputing the holistic point because the evidence remains that the standards have dropped which is why I said I'm playing with words. 7/8 started with one and 5 still have one. I would be intrigued if there was any exemption granted for Waitakere in lieu of an impending stand. I know 3 years is a hell of long time (even if you threw in resource consent) but I am intrigued.

Now that i think about it, Memorial Park has a covered stand and always had.

Why exactly am I coward? I could be mistaken but I think my name is on my profile. If it happens to not be, I don't exactly hide, a lot of people know who I am on here, I'm always willing to meet up for a beer, even met a few Auckland fever on my trip up there this season.

As for JV and I, we disagree on things a lot more than we agree. But at least we respect each others opinions. Whereas you very quickly turn to name calling etc, I'd say that makes you the coward, not us.

So wherever my head is its still able to notice your mistakes
well please speak up and articulate your vast correctness on these two locations.

Otago started at Carisbrook (covered), moved to the Caledonian (covered) then to Sunnyvale (not covered) then to Tahuna (covered) and then Forsyth Barr and I think they split it with the Cale. So they have moved but tried to stay at a covered location.

Yes YHM did start at Memorial like you pointed out and moved to FMGC and then back to Memorial. Both are covered.

That's good news then. My advice - get there early! Perhaps JV, who admits he doesn't like Kiwitea Street, might like to vacate his spot to a Ba fan who will probably thoroughly enjoy the best little ground in the country, not to mention the excellent steak sandwiches and passionate fans..

I have been to more than a few games there. Just personally don't like the atmosphere but that's just me. I haven't been to any of the O League games and probably won't while NRFL is on.

I attended a couple of those early TW vs ACFC games at Newtown Park and thought the facilities were good and the atmosphere enjoyable. It's a pity TW now has to resort to Miramar's open ground for financial reasons.
