Really enjoyed the excellent one hour show on the Auckland City u-17 Tournament on Sky on Tuesday night (repeated 4.15 am Sunday Sky Sport 3 apparently). Had no idea so many sides from around the country take part -were several from Christchurch, Dunedin, Nelson.
Three of the men's quarter-finalists were from Christchurch (my local club Cashmere Technical, Coastal Spirit, FCTwenty) and Cashmere Tech unlucky to lose on pens in the semi.

Ellerslie's striker Ermal Fusha, who scored Ellerslie's winner in the final looks a talent. Kosovo refugee family. They said he's on Kosovo's radar for national selection but the kid said he'd rather play for NZ where he's grown up.
The Mata twins who played for Onehunga Sports boys seem good too - one of them scored against Arsenal in the Manchester United Premier cup last year apparently.

The Mata boys aren't twins. The older boy is Ben (Centre Back) is born 1998 and Max(Striker) is born 2000, still only 13.
This is a serious , accurate quote .....its also almost Christie-an in its idiocy ...

Halftime 1 - 0 to ACFC. Kim goal. Sounds like Browne is going gangbusters.

Sounded like Cramp his first run of 70min in extreme heat so hopefully no permanent damage
UNDERDOG: One that is expected to lose a contest or struggle

That's great news. So why were the players arguing after he went down?

I think they wanted him off the field to play on but sounded like he couldn't move.

War-horse Jams Pritchett makes his 200th start for ACFC in today's crucial top-of-the-table 4pm clash v Amicale in O-League.
NB His first O-League game was nine years ago, in 2005: a 2-3 loss versus Sydney FC.

So ACFC need Waitak to lose or draw tomorrow to go through. Or Pirae to lose by 5 goals to Waitak.

ACFC back in contention, fancy their chances home and away in semis. Whole ASBP can breathe a sigh of relief that NZ's strongest side can now win the O League jackpot again.
Well done Auckland City for finishing 2nd in your group and qualifying for the semi finals. It should be considered a huge feat to match it with the big budgets of the Islands, who would have thought that little old New Zealand would have a shot at the big time. Keep up the great work!
Suck it and see fella, BTW ....how'd your team go in the finals ?
You might have drooled on the truth there ....tho Tahiti known as a magnet for tourists seems fortuitous that so many are keen to play ...*
* { and I kno ....pot / kettle etc ....}
Can we get Termie to give us a cost breakdown on making / not making the CWC...?

My team is NZ Football so therefore it's Auckland City. The saviour of the game in NZ.....thats what you want us all to say right?
