I see, according to Transfer Market Joao Moreira is back

Was fake according to Gordon Watson, got tricked by it too. Were also a few tweets floating around from South Africa about it

Brown and Zubikarai are still there as well

Figueira's quote ["we have two..."] seems to imply one of Brown or Zubikarai isn't?

Good spotting. Somewhat harshly, I assumed Jose was not including Brown in that analysis...

"The competition will be fierce with really good mates in Enaut and Cameron but this is a personal mission for me and I really want to develop and improve as much as possible,"

Not that good when I didn't spot that one!

Interesting moves all round when you consider this is Brown and Tracey's last major season prior to the Olympics.

Yeah, you'd think both Tracey and Brown could both find a starting spot somewhere else in the league. Surely neither will be able to dethrone Zubi as number one.

Maybe Canterbury don't have the budget for Tracey to return?

Does Zubikarai play winter footy in NZ or does he return to Spain for the summer? Just curious

Not sure if the Logan Rogerson rumours are legit or not but Rogerson + Browne + tasty import striker must be one of the most dangerous attacking trios the league’s seen recently

I do think having linderboom etc and David Browne in will be sufficient cover but yes will miss the magic he produced!

Thats very harsh, despite a fairly average stint at springs hes still a quality player!

He failed to make a mark for a team that finished 9 points off the top in the NRFL. Yep. That has leading the attack for a National League contender written all over it.

theres nothing wrong with 7 goals in 13 games in a environment he wasn't used too

Wasn't rated by Ramon either. But then Ramon rates Bonso-maru....

Very conflicted by Myer - could go either way.

I will say his attributes will definitely suit the better service from ACFC players as opposed to Springs...

Yeah Maro Bonsu-Maro leaked the Ilich signing on his Insta story, somehow hasn’t been asked to remove it yet

Good to see Conor saving a pen in a friendly the other day to inspire the mens team to a win. Happy he bounced back from the Australia appearance.

I watched the Auckland v Waitak pre season game on Saturday. Taking into account it was only a pre-season game and that Waitak basically fielded two different teams in each half I thought it was probably the worst Auckland City team I have seen in the last 10 years. Apart from Brian and Cam they looked very average.

On paper it probably is. But given they have scaled back the resources after having a very import-heavy squad, it should not come as a surprise. It is actually good to see them rebuild with some younger New Zealand players like Rogerson, Bevan and Blake.

A lot of people said the same thing last season...they will be strong.

I think the league will be more competitive across the board, Tasman United, Southern United & Hamilton Wanderers all look to have solid squads.

I was impressed with Rogerson on the day too. Not been a fan but looked much better than I expected.

Completely agree, and not just because your profile brings back great memories of my goalkeeping days.

Wooden spoon battle should be just as interesting as the fight for the top four - Canterbury and Hawke's Bay are my two contenders. Canterbury just look average across the board while HB are in a much-needed post-Angell rebuild and it's gonna take a while to bear the fruits of the Bay region. Waitak have made some good pickups and Weenix are improving year on year, keen to see Sotirio score a goal a game at Handy level

Will be interesting to see if people vote with their feet in regards to paying 15 dollars for ACFC or free at Seddon Fields. Considering you can get a ticket to the phoenix for 25 at Eden Park..

Permalink Permalink

wow $15 is steep for the Handy.

Don't mind parting with a tenner but I'm not sure I'd pay that much to watch even TW...
