There is a very real possibility that the game between Auckland and Suburbs could see Lewis, Hudson W and Dyer all on the bench with Burfoot and Payne starting (for suburbs)!

Im not sure that Hudson-Wihongi is mobile enough to play anywhere but holding so probably lewis next to Bilen although he has also played Tade in midfield!

The problem with ACFC is too many foreigners, not enough spaces. From that list above, I can count at least 11? Not every one can play when you can only play 8

ACFC player development is a disgrace the Kiwi's that they have in the squad are enticed by the money and the lure of the fifa club world cup and used to sit on the bench most weeks to make up the NZ quota They don't give a toss about development and it starts at very top chairman down every player has been poached from other NZ franchises, other oceania clubs or from arond the world, but if NZ Football allow it good on them but the bottom line is they play lip service to development.

Too many foreigners grumble grumble grumble.. All I hear is a bunch of cry babies throwing their toys around for why they can't get to CWC. You guys are starting to think like Donald Trump. ACFC have lifted the standard of the league, given NZF and the clubs a decent sized payout in 2014 and foreigners like Riera can show the locals around here a thing or two about playing a certain position. Sure some can be duds and some don't deserve to be there in place of locals this is sport and it happens. Auckland is a very multi-ethnic city so it shouldn't be surprising to see many foreigners playing at these clubs. And because Maori were here before all you lot (assuming you arn't maori) everyone is a bloody foreigner.

Most weren't living here most were brought in and yes Auckland is a multi ethnic city and its great but count the number of foreign players that have come and gone in the last five years and you might change your mind. Ramon and the club don't care about development its called tunnel vision .If the quota rule wasn't there I would imagine the whole squad would be foreigners.

You really are an arse.

You can't blame ACFC for assembling the best team they can within the squad restrictions imposed by NZF. If you think there's too many foreigners then blame NZF for imposing the rules, not the clubs which are playing within those rules.

As a foreigner (Wellingtonian) myself, I will support whichever Auckland SSP team fields the most foreigners.

Questions must be asked regarding foreigners and who's paying the bill, and at what expense, and critique should not be confused with playing the blame game.

I fundamentally do not have an issue with ACFC now because the rules are there and the same for everyone one and their success at CWC level has allowed to PAY those players (do not dress it up as anything otherwise). Personally, I would reduce it to 5. However when you take into account that you have to play 8 of the 16 on match day as Kiwis, and they have 11 foreigners, you have 3 each week that do nothing, and are getting paid, and that could be just as easily be done by a KIWI for NOTHING and being DEVELOPED. 

All for them fielding their quota but there gets to a point when a bit ridiculous even though they are playing by the rules.

I liken it to the rich guy that has a Ferrari in his garage. Good on him and then he has 4 others parked in the other garage that never get used and you just say 'what is the point'. In the end, you know at CWC, all 11 of those players will start and Kiwis will not get a look in and again, thats within the rules.

I think its the same for 'o' League as well with no restrictions but am happy to be corrected on that. It does seem crazy that last season Ivan Viselich was on the bench for a few games simply to make up the quota of Kiwi players even though he had pretty much retired!

They might be working out the existing terms of a previous agreement? Just speculating...

Thanks to expansion teams less this now. More kiwi in SSP - even Moses is at SSP level now thanks to expansion - Burns got a gig to save career - howieson and payne the wonderkids at 17 journeyman at 22 have chance to reignite their AW aspirations - go TW anywho.

What happened with the Godfather? He's not listed in Auckland City's squad for the game against Waitakere. Retired?

yes retired from playing, but will still be on the bench as assistant coach to Ramon

Are there any radio streams that are covering Auckland City's match today and/or the SS Premiership in general? I assume there are no video streams online but I'm more than happy with just radio if anybody knows.
