Considering Team Wellington was pretty much Olympic and Miramar I don't see how this is exciting news or surprising.

So is the smart money on the Greeks, Rangers and Napier to make National League?

Wellington Olympic, Miramar Rangers, Western Suburbs probably the three favourites, though it's hard to tell without sight of squads. Napier City Rovers, North Wellington, and Wairarapa United probably the three that could join the conversation depending on who's where. (Lower Hutt would be in that group too, but they can't qualify/have already qualified).

The top three the last five years – I'd argue the rise of Team Wellington and their added OFC Champions League commitments hampered Miramar/Olympic in the 2017-2019 stretch.

2020: Miramar, Wests, Olympic
2019: Wests, Napier, Miramar
2018: Napier, Wests, Stop Out
2017: Wests, Wairarapa, Wellington United
2016: Olympic, Miramar, Napier

what's this Hamish Watson to Lower Hutt news about?

Watto started his football at Lower Hutt so when Paul Ifill tweeted that a player who had been connected with almost every club in the central league had ended up back where he started, 2ndBest joked it was Watto to Lower Hutt!

No "central North Island" teams in the National League would be a bummer, and it seems likely if Wanderers can't get a top 4 in the North

More of a Cap Prem comment, but given the only teams elligible for promotion are:

Stop Out
Upper Hutt
Tawa
Island Bay
Wellington United

I don't really think Upper Hutt will be promoted this season, based on their Hilton form.

They somewhat bottled it last year when they should have won the league. going to be a very tight league in Cap Prem again this year

Also to add to this, word is that Palmerston Nth Marist have made a significant investment towards players in an effort to return to central league. I imagine it will be a heck of a promotion relegation match if this is the case

As far as I can tell, TeeDubs are splitting off in the following.
Olympic: Basalaj, Gulley, JHS, Barcia, Watto, Mata
Miramar: Jones, Midgly, Schrijvers, Whyte , Bevin, Mason-Smith, Moreira, Dewar, Zeb
USA: Williams
West: Gatkek
NCR: Gould

Unknown: McKeown (Mar?), Hailemarian

Maybe Kalezic has a spot at MVV Maastricht?

More seriously: why are the Greeks considered the team to beat when most TeeDubs are staying at Davey F?

Interesting that the Lower Hutt players seem to be transferring to Wgtn Phoenix. Just to make the split personality even worse?

McKeown also to Olympic. Interested in where they will fit in their U20 players in,
Rapa doesn't seem to have too many recruits. Matt Tod-Smith is one.
NW have lost Randall to the US (i think). Max Batchelor has gone there.

That's because of the rules around clubs with mou's they need to be registered with the National League club but can play for Lower Hutt in Central League

My money would be on Atkins alongside Schrijvers and O'Brien in a back three and Zeb as a right wingback being the two regular starters, with Simes and Owen Barnett as the other leading contenders.

Cutoff's being 2001-born, right? So players like Akers or Karan Mandair, who aren't 21 until May, won't count towards the U20 quota?

edit: btw, Aaron Spain? what's he up to
