Good to see NZF really setting the bar high for the level of coverage for this game. Love the head high camera angle made me feel like I was standing at the ground!

So maybe a 5 way battle for relegation this year? Island Bay, Stop Out, Petone, North Wellington and Karori?

Wests and Phoenix a bit ahead. Napier and Miramar battle for 2nd with Olympic out front?

Have Petone been picked apart a bit? What's going on at Karori

Miramar did lose 2-0 in a pre-season friendly to Wests.

I think its more like

Olympic <- some distance -> Nix/Wests/ <-smaller gap-> Miramar/ Napier (Hunch, not seen them play) /Petone then there, or thereabouts Karori, Island Bay, Stop Out & North Wellington at the lower end, but i would think it will be IBU or NW for the drop.

Gap at the top will be come clearer now that Olympic's overseas jaunts are now off, and you'd expect some people to be moving on elsewhere?

Not sure how much it means or what happened in the game. But the nix lost 2-1 to Napier City last weekend

I’ve been thinking about this for a while. I’d expect Olympic to win it with the depth of their squad, the Nix keep growing and growing.

I think it will be
Top two
1) Olympic 45+ points
2) Nix 40+ points

Next four will be tight but Napier have opened the cheque book and should do well.

Petone have been unlucky from the videos I’ve seen but unlucky doesn’t equal good either so this is dubious

Miramar on paper should come third but with an ageing squad I’m not convinced they will hold it together all winter. Wests aren’t nearly as good as they think they are.
3) Napier
4) Petone
5) Miramar
6) Wests

Stop out and Karori will lock in for a battle all season but drop points elsewhere.
7) Stop Out
8) Karori

Battle for the spoon
9) North Wellington
10) IBU

Both North Wgtn and IBU will serve up more than the Whanganui and NW last year but still won’t reap much.

I have horrible opinions

I thought Petone had lost a large amount of last years squad including Brazier. May really struggle to hit the heights of last year. But what do I know!

Miramar have recruited aggressively.

Yep the Div 1 team are the u19's (Cap Prem) squad and the Div 2 team is the u18 Cap 1 squad. u20's (Reserves) have been playing internals and games against Wests and NCR.

Does 4-0 imply olympic are even better than thought, given NCR had spent up large?

Big wins for Mar and Wests as well.

It was 3-0 Olympic won by - 2 goals in last 5 minutes.

Big wins for Mar and Wests as well.

General consensus was that 3-0 was a bit flattering. Olympic definitely still the team to beat in the Central League though.

Agreed

From what I heard it was quite an even game. Olympic had the better of the chances and scored a couple of decent late goals.

Rovers will be very strong this year

Phoenix have a younger squad this year - they will be lucky to get 20+ points let alone 40+

I know it’s early days but Wests might be the real deal huh? They totally outplayed Olympic even with a late rally.

How good is Meek? 7 goals in 2 games.

Three games in now. Miramar have started extremely well. Genuine title contenders?

Also does anyone know why Nix Ressies and Wests are playing tonight? Then both playing league games Saturday? bit early for a catch up game.

At a guess it will be because of the OFC u19 comp in July and trying to limit the number of games the Nix will be affected by it.

Don't know the circumstances but seems unfortunate this game isn't on FIFA+. Seem to have a lot of games at 2.45 on a Saturday, when pretty much all those interested are probably busy with their own clubs game. Is it something to do with Martin Luckie Park?

No - they had the OCL game between Olympic and Auckland City on FIFA+ from there, probably;y more the fact it was on a Wednesday night

Looking at the Fifa+ live schedule it seems that neither this weekend's or next weekend's Nix Reserves games are being shown - kinda annoying as none of their games have been on Fifa+ so far, but Auckland United seem to have theirs shown every week

If it is the same as down here in Christchurch several of the clubs have had fixed camera's installed on their clubroom's roofs in recent weeks (unsure who of covering the cost), clubs that I am aware of are - Cashmere Technical, Coastal Spirit and Nomads - there may be others, as well as Nelson Suburbs, Christchurch United usually stream their games on their youtube channel.

From what I’ve been told, they are in the process of adding more cameras. Two are being installed at wakefield for sure

Massive result down the bottom as well.

My pics for the weekend. No draws, all gas, no breaks. Olympic beat the weenix 4-1 in preseason I think it could be that again based on recent form from both.

Stop out are having a tough time and Karori are up and down.

There doesn't seem to be many that will stop Napier at the moment.

Petone are a bit of a wild card.

If I was a betting man I'd put a tenner on +3 goal victories for  Miramar, Olympic & Napier City this weekend.

I've got both other matches down for draws though to be honest. 🙊
