Looking forward to watching the Weenix v Petone this afternoon. Short of North Wellington upsetting Olympic this is a must-win if we’re going to stay top of the table.

Well... I'm sure North tried their very best

Sadly (because at least geographically they’re my local club) I think you’re right.

The Reserves game was honestly a much more entertaining watch than what happened in Brisbane - disappointed for the lads that they conceded at the death, but Petone pushed hard and deserved the point. There was some fast-paced football in there on both sides.

Went to North Wellington vs Olympic. Interesting game despite the expectedly one-sided scoreline and very cool conditions.

Scoreline to some extent didn't represent the game - North Wellington competed well for a start keeping Olympic out for a while, but when the floodgates did open Olympic bagged a couple more.

Sort of the same in the second half... was 4-0 for a while, then Olympic doubled the score in the space of about 5-10 minutes.

Despite being out of their depth overall a few impressed me from NW - their left back Fatialofa made some good runs up the pitch to create for them and their 17 as well was quite dynamic. Surprisingly quick team on the counterattack, but their overall play and decision making was light years off Olympic. It was a shame they were missing Wilson Souphanthavong who was a livewire the week prior.

Have to shout out Adam Supyk who scored an absolute belter of a goal on the half-volley for Olympic, another ex-Nix in Josh Rudland had a good game too with a hatty (although the second did not have much intention!). Their new defender Danquah was also super impressive - thought he was more solid than the likes of Gulley and Mata this game.

NW probably should have scored one for themselves too, but Basalaj made a few very good saves to stop them and was honestly one of Olympics best.

Not many implications to draw from this one... but Olympic will be glad to move top of the league. And their travelling support were in good numbers and vocal, good on em!

Anyone know what happened to Jonny McNamara and City Rovers? I've seen his name pop up in the goals for Taradale in the Central League 2.  Suprised he left City Rovers given he seemed a fan favourite

Given the weather last 24 hours or so, any news about the weekend being good to go?

Given the weather last 24 hours or so, any news about the weekend being good to go?

It probably depends on whether its a grass or artificial, weather report says its due to be cloudy with a few showers, gradually clearing to fine in the afternoon.

I'd say Davey F would hold up well, not sure about Karori Park or Endeavor though. Best bets for watching a game live are Olympic or Petone.
I have horrible opinions

Is the Capital Football site a reliable source of info for changes like this?

For example I’m heading into town for the VUW v PNU WCL game (was that enough TLAs?), which claims to still be playing at Boyd Wilson at 12, but I wonder if I’m going to arrive as Nigel No Mates at an empty ground.

Edit: Phew, I didn’t haul my butt up the hill for nothing.

Wow some interesting games today.

Went to Olympic vs Phoenix reserves - Olympic power and physicality in the first half won them the game. Watson had a blinder with a cracking opening goal and a handy assist in the first half, Ben Mata then finished the Nix off from the spot.

Second half was less interesting but Olympic were sure good defensively... get the feeling they're a strong tilt at national titles this year.

Can they turn on the lights earlier next time??

good on them. they've grown as the season has gone with the big step up. Heard Rory at an aftermatch recently and was impressed with how he came across

Rumour has it that there was a lot more going on than just that.

Feels like its Miramar, Wests & Karori for the final NL spot. I give Miramar the edge at the moment based on what i have seen.

Didn’t Miramar just lose 3 zip to rovers?

I didn't suggest Miramar would finish ahead of NCR; just ahead of Wests and Karori.

I hear Justin Gulley back to Stop Out? Anyone else hearing anything similar?
See he wasn't even in the squad last weekend.

I don't get to as many games as I'd like to, got out to NCR v Olympic... I don't think I'd be getting to many more if that's the standard. What a shut game.

Which Coach?  Surely not Stu??

Stu got two yellows during the game and Guille got a red straight after!!

No coaches for the next two games (ban takes place until one CL game is missed).

My understanding is the Chatham cup game counts as the ban so they are back for the Central league game against Norths.
