He is apparently eligible for New Zealand through one of his parents.

wish he was in a position that's Rojas and Thomas don't play but I guess beggars can't be choosers and the more the better

No it's not just you and I think the goals may be smaller as well

It's odd that no one has picked up on him earlier, especially as his mum/dad is kiwi.  Maybe we're his second option after not being selected for England's youth (u17 etc) teams.

Long as he/she has eligibility :)

If one of his parents is a NZ citizen then there should be no issue with eligibility...

...but who knows...

Sounds like there's a strong possibility Cameron will be called up for the All Whites next match.

Confirmation in this article that he qualifies through his mother.

Well he has put Hudson on the spot and words in his mouth there hasn't he. So much for picking your strongest team from now on.

His manager's words.

Thing is though in the midfield we're not exactly high on talent, and this guy's got to be worth a look. Better now than later I guess.

EDIT: Although looks like he's a winger.

Played the first half in a 1-1 draw with Barnsley.

Misses a fairly good chance at 0.30:

Blackpool scored from Cameron's corner to beat Swindon Town 1-0 and record their first back-to-back wins since 2013.

80 mins in a 0-0 draw at Coventry City. That's 4 games undefeated and 3 clean sheets in a row for Backpool. Still in the relegation zone but only on goal difference now - heading in the right direction!

Substituted at half time in a 1-1 draw with Millwall. Blackpool's 5th undefeated game in a row and up to 21st and 1 point away from getting out of the relegation zone.

Old news, but apparently Cameron got nominated for some rising star award.

"The 18-year-old faces competition from the likes of England international Raheem Sterling, Bolton’s Zack Clough and Brendan Galloway of Everton"

Vote Cameron for Rising Star

Voting is closed now, but he got nominated.

Henry Cameron to be called up to International Football

This article talks about Cameron expected to be called up to the New Zealand Side.

However, it states in the article that "New Zealand have two friendlies next month away at Oman and Lebanon which would see Cameron miss Pool’s clashes against Barnet, Wigan and Doncaster"

NZ playing two friendlies? I didn't know the All Whites were playing Lebanon O.o

After missing the last few games, Cameron came on after 67' but was unable to prevent Blackpool losing 0-1 at Bradford City. Despite the loss, Blackpool are now in 20th, one place and one point above the relegation zone.

If his eligibility is in check he should be in the next squad without a doubt would have him in over just about anyone in the ASB.

He's a winger though right? Not sure where he gets a look-in with Rojas, Kosta, Thomas & Boyd all established, and with the likes of Fenton, McGlinchey and Brockie able to play there too. These are the guys who have been keeping Henderson out of the squad too.

You know we belong together...

He's younger than all of them and playing at the right level for him to improve. I think marco/micky will play more centrally for nz in the future, and brockie will either play up front or not at all

Correct me if I am wrong, but also young enough to play for U-20s in next World Cup

Cameron picked up a yellow card in a full game as the Tangerines crashed out of the FA Cup 2-0 at League Two side Barnet.

Unfortunately for Henry, the injury picked up in the Oman game is a rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament and he's ruled out for the rest of the season.

That's a nasty injury - hope he recovers well and represents NZ for years to come.

who was the debutant that got injured in the last AWs match. A curse I tell you!

I seriously hope this doesn't put him off playing for us. Such a shame to see someone clearly so gifted getting injured like that on debut

Poor lad. Regular first teamer at an already struggling/rebuilding club, Blackpool management staff must be seething.

Maybe they'll think twice before letting young Henry out in future on some far flung excursion...

Oman's not that far flung from the UK though.  I presume he flew by my employers (BA) or Oman Air there.

Terrible luck for the lad as he has been playing well for Blackpool and played well for us until he went done in what was obviously considerable pain.

Best of luck for the rehab Henry.
