Apparantly he's signed on in Hungary.....nothing on his twitter account about it

http://www.shrewschat.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5079

nothing on the hungarian club site about him and translating the other link in that one is sketchy at best....

He was named in the wider training group in lead up to the world cup. but it is easier to make the all whites than it is the phoenix, but it does show that Herbert hasn't forgotten him.

Nice news, a Honved shirt would be awesome with Bright on the back, looking at the Current Squad on Wikipedia numbers 12-14, 16-18 and 20-22 are all free, #10 has been retired in honour of Puskas. Keen.
You know we belong together...

Bright played 53 minutes with in a 3-1 loss vs mtk. Can somebody change the unattached status to Budapest Honved in this thread?

Yep, I think there just comes a time when you have to hold up your hand and say "I'm not good enough".

He's trialling in a friendly match today. Given Muang Thong played a catch-up league game yesterday, he'll probably line-up alongside a lot of reserves. They're playing BBCU, one of the co-leaders of Divison 1 (MTU are currently 3rd in the Premier League). I won't be there, but I'll keep an eye on the press here.

It's odd as the guy they want him to replace has had a pretty good season so far, and was only signed at the beginning of the season.

Don't know why all the coverage on TLO focusses on Bright, perhaps because he's coming from Europe?

Anyway, he played in a squad of about 20 Muang Thong Utd triallists, losing 6-2 to BBCU's first team. Kris Bright got both goals for the triallists. Other triallists included Portuguese player Jorge Rodriguez (DF, formerly of Boavista), who's also trialled at Bangkok Glass, and Jetsada Gaewprasong (LB, Rayong FC)

If I've read the lastest report correctly, Muang Thong reckon that despite Bright scoring twice in his trail match, they don't think he's the tye of player they want, and he's moving on to trial at Police United.

Either that, or Muang Thong didn't see enough to make a decision in one match and he's being given a second chance in a trial vs Police Utd (currently 6th in the league)

It was the first one. Muang Thong weren't interested, but he had a trial with Police Utd, playing in a draw 2-2 with TOT. The coach is quoted as saying Bright did well (he scored again), but their import quota is full, pending confirmation of another transfer(they're waiting for the player to return to Thailand to sign) and the return of an on-loan player. Apparently Bright wasn't interested in hanging around till next week to see if a spot opened up or not, and has flown to Europe where a possible offer from Excelsior in the Netherlands has come up.

Looks like my part in following his tale has ended, and the baton passes to someone else.

Incidentally, Diego Walsh was trialling in the second match as well, and has been successful, signing a contract with TOT.

Bright clearly likes Thailand; according wikipedia his only international goal was here in 2009, and he's scored three times in two trials here this week.

This might make Kris feel better: it looks like he came out second-best to 'God' at Muang Thong.

Robbie Fowler rumoured to be on his way to Muang Thong Utd in Thailand. He's supposed to be on a plane from the UK now, as the transfer window closes on Friday. Club boss reckons negotiations are '70%' done. One story doing the rounds is he'll be paid by appearance, rather than a salary, on a 4-month deal.

Apparently he is trialling for the Portland Timbers and might be subbed on in a friendly match, to play against Independiente tomorrow.

Apparently MLS regulations prevented him playing.
