There should be plenty of journalists there. I've just finished 40 media laminates for OFC. I suspect the real interest will be from Fiji.

Reg, there aint no way I can currently go out and support Waitakere United, or for that matter Waitakere City. They are my most hated club IN THE WORLD, regardless of being a Kiwi and all that stuff. I can live with them winning this game all well and good, but as for supporting them. Er, nah. I'll find it in my heart to say good luck to em, but I'll never forget the way they have treated me in the past.

i was just thinking big picture - good to see bums on seats in a televised match and the money in kiwi coffers.  i must admit that they don't give me a great vibe, even from this far away in wellington. let's hope another team makes it next year.  who do you support?

what happenned to you?  no doubt something serious associated with someone's agenda once again kicking our game in the arse?

How many Waitakere fans cheered for ACFC when we got to WCC. None. Were just returning the favour.

I wasn't aware of Dorkins upsetting the Nips, but that is just typical of their honchos, and as I said typical of the dickheads who have been running the game in this country for ever.
If there are 10 - 15,000 Fijians there, then we have to try to get them along each week to the NZFC. Imagine that. They are already here, why can't we attract them to the game.
That's got to be the mission for NZ football. Get the immigrant community involved in going to the games - cheap tickets, make them welcome when they come.
That's what ACFC did when I turned up, they couldn't have been more welcoming - even Monsieur Vukcich, working behind the bar for gods sake. You can talk to him and have a laugh - the White-Hucks wouldn't even look at you.
Comtacting community groups might be something we can work on as a supporters group.
I know there are a few Japanese have been coming along to the ACFC games this year, as a result of Teru's appearance. Not a lot but a start.
Any ideas.

Talk of 10 to 15 thousand Fijian fans! This can`t be right.4500 pre sales according to Elrick.. If so it could be the biggest crowd at a game this year. Something for the Phoenix to better. http://www.nzfc.co.nz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=929&Itemid=2

If there's that many fijians in NZ happy to go to a club football game then surely someone somewhere should be targetting them as a potential supporter base for local clubs . . . . The lack of marketting skill in NZ football surpirses me. There are so many non-traditinoal migrant groups who come here from countries that are crazy about foorball, but for some reason they are conspicuous by there absence at club games. It would'nt surprise me if most migrants from countries other than the UK are not made to feel as welcome as they could be within the club structures we have in place. . ..

We should buy Ba's number 11, he's good, breaking down the right.

And number 5, Kumar.Jeez, a fight's just broken out behind me between Indian Waitakere supporters wearing Man U shirts and a regular Indian. Hells teeth 2 of them rolled down the seats.
What now, an official wants me to stop taking photos?
But that's Christian Karembou.
Grr.

We sat in an 'official area' but then a Christian Karembou look-a-like told us to move. We told him we were with George Suri, but he said we had to move at half time.

Edward... were you there at the fight? At the top, up the right?

Crap game really. Waitak lucky.

What about Krapovic? How sh*t is he?!

Waitakere were very lucky. They all looked slow. Passing was very innacurate and weak. Crosses were average. Too many slow guys trying to beat their markers rather than play a passing game.

Ba should have won that 2-0.

I agree. Auckland are a much better side technically. Waitak looked very average, apart from Utting.

Utting was amazing and only reason why they won really.

Ba poor finishing poor defence. Waitakere top goalkeeper. What was the official crowd? What would Auckland City have done if they were in the final? Can kiwitea St hold that many? Something to consider for next season if they make a final against Ba.

Everyone, please let it be clear that we will not tolerate any behaviour that could remotely considered to be racist on this site.  Particularly after all of the negative publicity surrounding our (apparently) beautiful game lately.

As usual I've banged off a photo and quick cellphone video of the celebrations.
Follow the OFC link at the top

Nembo I was about 6 rows from the fight, it got down to two having a right old niggle.  They had several attempts to kick things off.  The first outbreak looked like a scrum with 10-12 involved.  Luckly two sets of mates dragged them away.

Menapi ran out of steam up front during the season half, but did create some good chances.
Pearce was first to the ball and eventually in the net, bundled Ba players off the ball, but must have been sprigged cause he didn't  want to put his right foot on the ground late in the game.

That last sending off was due to pratting about.
Luiz Del Monte kept chipping away and caused trouble.

I could see the Waitak form but jeez they aren't as organised as Auckland City FC.
Good patches but crappy for long periods too.
As I said, if we can swipe 11 and 5 from Ba, we would have the key trouble makers.
Nice to sit in a decent sized crowd.
Still, very thankful that the home side one.
