So a draw between Hekari and TeeDubs tomorrow would put them both through. Should see about 900 completed passed between CBs

Draw means that TeeDubs play Auckland City though. Can't see TeeDubs going for anything other than the win.

Providing Auckland City beat Amicale, they should but they made hard work of beating Lae City Dwellers, both games look pretty interesting.

But, because of the Tefana result, if Auckland lose they are out!

I've noticed that Amicales draw vs Solomon Warriors is now a 3-0 win for Amicale...any reason why that is...unregistered players? Makes a big difference because now Amicale only need a draw in last game vs Auckland to make Semis

Fielded an ineligible player now means a draw will see both teams on 7 points and playing each other in the semi final on Wednesday.

Serious question. How many of the Auckland starting XI are eligible for all whites? Is it just two (or am I being namist)? Just curious (apologies if this has been done to death as I've been absent from forums for a bit).

I know, I know, its serious!

Turfmoore it you are right just two but Auckland City don't care and to prove the point  why would you bring in a GK from overseas and by the way he is rubbish, so much for development and yes its been done to death.

Yeah that's a shocker from ACFC, Spoonley is clearly better and I'm fairly sure Drake is too. Thanks ACFC for going behind and going out to $5.50 to win, easy money

Fuck this stupid game

https://in-the-back-of-the.net/2016/04/18/ocl-2016...

On the goalkeeping situation, both Spoons and Drake looked nervy in pre-season and Spoonley had a couple of high profile rickets in the ASB and the CWC.

The ACFC defence really isn't all that at the minute, so I guess they had to bring in someone else.

Fark me I'm excited, TW's seem to be the form team... I don't want to say more because of jinx, etc.

TeeDubs didn't look too sure of themselves in their first game, but they're growing into the competition - certainly finished the group off in style.

Magenta will be a test though, they're not a bad side.

Why did they bring in this new keeper halfway through the ASB Premiership? Surely Jacob Spoonely is solid enough as number 1?

Keeping the cost down? I imagine getting the lights on would be reasonably expensive.

IIRC, it costs about $10,000 to turn the lights on at Westpac. Imagine it would be similar at the Sandpit.

But on the flip side you would expect bigger crowds for an evening game!

Koha entry for Cyclone Winston means that even with more people, you aren't subsidising the cost of the lights.

(and i think it's fricken awesome that OFC are donating to Fiji)

If they are watching and betting on this game they must be bored I BET they can't believe a donkey like Edge gets a game and this whole tournament needs a shake up, put them in groups and play home and away.

YIP I have to agree feneridis but what about Gulley he could be worse than Edge shorter hamstrings at least.

Even with Bill back TWs defence will get the run around by ACFCs  attack it will be mules v donkeys to think one of these two sides will be playing the best in the world it has to be the worst ACFC team ever and if TW get there my god what will Fifa think

Team Welly are there and it is the worst Auckland team in a long long time., But my biggest gripe is the timing of the final !

I believe it is at 2pm on Saturday! Everyone that watches or plays football will probably be involved with their local clubs on Saturday afternoon! (I will be watching my son play)

Wouldn't it make sense to have the final on Sunday and pick up a bigger crowd and bigger tv audience!!!

Yeah that annoys me too, I'll be out refereeing so won't even be able to watch the game! Between that and not even having games in Wellington, I think it all has been a bit stink. Glad both NZ teams are in the final though.

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

And the organisers are probably the ones who are critical of Sky for not showing more football.   I will have to rely on MySky to record the game but not the same as watching live.

I would suggest that by timing the games as they have, the organisers don't give a toss about anything but getting the tournament over and done with.

I think your right and that just about sums up all you need to know about OFC and NZ Football!

I would love to have watched it live and probably gone to the game (I live on the North Shore) but will be at my sons game trying to get updates on my phone! Just not good enough. Why not Sunday afternoon at 4pm?? I know the island teams have to get home but it is supposed to be the biggest tournament in Oceania!

Just not good enough.....

For sure.Maybe financial concerns were more important?

On the upside for me having afternoon ko's makes it easier for me to watch them.

Not a good start for TW, 2nd minute goal from auckland.  Least it was at the start of the game rather than near the end.  TW struggling to get possesion :-(
