Auckland City 1-0 up in the 55th minute. Dominated first 30 of first half and took the lead also hitting the post twice. Ifira improving a lot though end of first half and start of second half so it might not be done as a contest just yet.

Full time 2-0 to Auckland City - decent game in the end but ACFC deserve the win. Will give them confidence going into the final

Seeing an account like that make a good point about football

Hekari are into the final - beat Tiga 1-0.

In parts of this tournament they have been very impressive, but didn't think they were that good for much of this game, especially with Tiga down to 10 men for most of the second half. Didn't show much cutting edge in front of goal either.

Great for them to reach the final (because it's been a long time), but will need to play much better than today to challenge ACFC, and they'll know it.

This will be the first final since 2012-13 (Auckland City v Waitakere United) between two former champions!

Yeah I don't get into any politics chatter. Came up when I was searching for info about the game. 😅

Final tomorrow.

Man it's disappointing that there's been so little media coverage over here. I know Auckland City tend to win it every year but its still the regions premier club competition and books a place at the Intercontinental Cup.

The mainstream media sure do report on the Premier League and other overseas leagues a lot though.

I noticed that both Fifa+ listings and the National League Twitter page have Auckland City playing a Northern League game at 3pm at Kiwitea Street and then the Champions League final in Honiara at 7pm.

I thought this was just a mistake but then I looked at an ACFC's website and they have a press release from Wednesday saying their match against Western Springs has been moved forward to Saturday the 12th to alleviate fixture congestion?

So are they actually playing 2 matches on Saturday and therefore fielding a reserve team for their Northern League game?

Yes it's pretty wild. But with this comp and club world cup I'm guessing there were only so many spots for make-up games?

If any ACFC might not mind their first teamers playing a game less and also getting the chance to add to those U20s minutes.

Not sure Springs table rivals will appreciate it so much.

Been a competitive game, 1-0 for a while but Bevan just made it 2-0 from the penalty spot. With 10~ mins to go, that should be the game. Congrats again Auckland City

Auckland City FC were crowned champions of Oceania for the 13th time on Saturday night, beating Hekari United 2-0 in the 2025 Champions League final in Honiara in the Solomon Islands.

Four hours earlier, however, they suffered a 1-0 defeat at their Kiwitea St home in suburban Auckland, where they played Western Springs in round four of New Zealand’s Northern League – one of the three amateur men’s regional leagues that feeds into the National League Championship at the end of the year.

Playing two matches in the same day is not unprecedented in club football, but it is extremely rare, and other known cases didn’t involve a distance of 3400km between the venues for the two matches.

The
match against Western Springs was originally scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, but with a dozen City first-team players not travelling to the Champions League – in some cases because they needed to save annual leave to attend the Club World Cup – they approached their opponents about bringing it forward to ease fixture congestion as they get closer to the marquee tournament.
