Petange 10th of 16 teams. Would level be much above National/Central League?

Hopefully just a start for Faulds. Been looking for that first pro deal for awhile now it seems.

A goal and an assist in a friendly 4-0 win over Swift Hesperange yesterday too. 🙂

Another goal in a 3-2 loss against F91 Dudelange in a friendly yesterday. League action resumes next weekend, with Pétange travelling 10 minutes down the road to take on bottom of the table FC Mondercange.

Says the tempo and intensity is far higher than what he faced in the Central/National Leagues, even for friendly matches.

Probably gives you some idea of the scope of the challenge that Kiwi lads face when they head over to Europe to try and make a name for themselves.

A new league to follow.

Presumably she's all short bus trips in Luxembourg, polar opposite of the ALM. Fauld's Petange (10th) travel to Monnerich (16th/last)

Lol, it's about the same distance I have to drive to get to work!

Had a quick look, and most clubs in the league are located in southern Luxembourg as it is (between 3-30km).

Outliers are FC Wiltz 71 to the north (70kms) and Victoria Rosport to the east (75kms).

Niche Cache. Maybe the NZ National League coverage ain't so bad after all.
And Luxembourg with the highest GDP per capita ($USD142K) in the world. Surely they have some lazy money around to televise some football??

Mondercange are last in the division so this was a game that UTP will have been hoping to capitalise on, particularly since their stated aim over the second half of the campaign is to ensure they don’t slip any closer towards having to go through relegation playoffs. This’ll help that plenty.

They were in a bit of danger up until Faulds’ goal, with Mondercange pushing desperately for an equaliser, but
then a mix-up between defender and goalkeeper allowed Faulds to pounce and convert into an open net. Sadly there’s no video, they don’t seem to even broadcast the games in Luxembourg unless the clubs take it upon themselves. You’ll just have to imagine what it looked like.

Well done YH.
I think the crowds at Park Island were bigger.

Just over 60 minutes for him before being subbed. Still building minutes by the look of it.

Said it was a scrappy game yesterday - the opposition had the better clear cut chances while his side was living off scraps comparatively.

Spicy game as well : 11 🟨 + 4 🟥

Made the bench for TotW for his debut match the week prior too.

Third game he was back to the bench away to Bettembourg, where UTP were 1-0 down after 55 minutes but equalised soon afterwards. Bettembourg then got a red card and Faulds was very quickly summoned to take advantage of that situation.

Chucked on after 65 minutes. UTP took the lead after 73 minutes.
Faulds made it safe with a goal on 81 mins. Oscar Faulds has played 118 minutes in the Luxembourg National Division and already has two goals, plus his team is undefeated in the games that he’s played. So far so good.
