You've all got it wrong. He's just signed a contract to become a courier!

Deleted tweet. Gatt saying his source saying Korea is rock solid.

Sweet & Sour?

Really gonna miss him.

The shining star in the past seasons of mediocrity and trash.

I wish him all the best

Nix players winning the Johnny Warren is such a poisoned chalice for the club - a record three winners in our short history, and all three leave the Nix the season after. It's also like Pet Semetary as the first two have come back, but they are just not quite the same. Expect to see Krishna back and misfiring for us in a couple of years.

With that said I wish him all the best. Will be impossible to replace.

Guess he has to chase the money now, has 4 maybe 5 years left to make as much as possible

Unsurprising. Has achieved almost everything he can achieve with the Phoenix as an individual, this is a one-time shot for him to fry a far bigger, more rewarding fish. Good luck to the man, we’ll always have that Melbourne City hatty.

Side note, no international breaks and Fiji actually plays. Silver lining there.

Has any A League player gone to any of the Asian countries and come out of it a better player?

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Never an issue for All Blacks either so we can live with him cashing in.

Gone to a club outside the A-League, but not going to announce it till he comes back from his honeymoon? Back to the drawing-board...

Mitchell Duke probably fits that too.

Ah, I've got why the confusion happened. Ray Gatt heard he was making a career move and thought it meant moving to Korea.

Crazy to think he only scored 3 goals in nearly 90 games over in Korea

... like Smeltzy and Nathan Burns came back? I wouldn't want his legacy tarnished like that.

Still, if he comes back it will mean we have more than 1 more season left in us, so that'll be good.

Good on him, has done us proud and couldn't be happier he is going to a club outside the A league

One last decent contract he deserves

Unlikely but hope it is not Asia or MLS, would be cool at his age if it is a European club

Not sure about their returns to the A-League, but Sasa Ognenovski, Luke DeVere & Robbie Cornthwaite all did fairly well in the time they spent in the K-League.

DeVere got a Socceroos call-up (but missed out due to injury) while at Gyeongnam.

Ognenovski ended up captaining Seongnam and winning the ACL before Rev. Moon died and the club became a citizen club.

Matt McKay is probably one who returned to A-League playing at at least the same level as he'd been at in K-League. He was an annoying prick in Busan's midfield, and was pretty much the same at Brisbane.

Could picture Ognenovski, but couldn't remember his name. He was a huge star in Korea.

Gutted, superb player on his day and loved watching him the past couple of seasons. Thoroughly deserves his big pay day and I'll be keeping an eye out for where he ends up. All the best Roy.

Glad for the role the nix played in developing his career and for the awesome contribution he made - hopefully now a big pay-off. What a great example to Oceania kids from where he's got to now and where he goes next (hopefully). Might we still see him in an NZ strip one day? Good luck Roy!

Someone has changed Roy's Wikipedia to saying that he will play for the Indian club ATK. Was edited by some Indian bloke and its Wikipedia after all, but maybe its true

That would be a pity, want to see him play at a higher level, not just leave for a pay day (although up to him if he makes that call)
