Hot of the press. Ross "im too big for the SPL" Mckenzie i unhappy with the way that tech is running its 1st team and a possible transfer to Varsity could be on the cards. Updtaed news as it happens

Any thoughts on the weekends results - I felt Caversham should have won regardless of defaulting as with no-one turning up they were still the better team man-for-man. I liked the way Rab has angled his report also, implying Caversham didn't turn up at all after losing 3-1 to GI ha ha - nice one Rab, more incorrect reporting by you Sir.

I heard Roslyn were warming up on the field when the rumour that caversham had defaulted starting spreading through  the roslyn camp until Tim Horner who was being rested for the game walked into Tahuna park striking fear through Terry Boylans body that maybe maybe infact Caversham were going to turn up..Boylan quickly getting brando ad the boys back into the changing rooms and  they haven't been seen since,Therefore defaulting the game and handing another piece of silverware to The Red machine

Giddy up you suckers!

You were probably due Tommy considering you have put in a few years at Roslyn now - congratulations. Great profile pic by the way - did you have that done professionally?

Thought Rab's article was fantastic - what journalism.

Its true I am not happy about the way the Tech first team is being run.  Al Rickerby won't pass me the ball and the Fridge has told me to put away the Mara-Kenzie turn.  I am sticking to indoor.  At least my indoor team mates appreciate what I have to offer!  Right guys??

I think Roslyn are more than happy that Caversham defaulted the game, because that way they get silverware which they would not of got if caversham did turn up. Where as Caversham have bigger fish to fry, the last thing they need is 2 games in one day in the run up to the opening round of the season. CHOO CHOO!!!!!

Well put Mike, you seem to read the game from Cavershams perspective. Maybe you should look at implementing such wise council over at Tech? Certainly Roslyn aren't counting the pre-season cup as actual silverware? What a joke - it isn't worth spit (a bit like the trophy they won last year).

Right what are the picks for the weekend?

Tech 8v0 Young fellas (Burgess grabbing 7 - he will have another stunning season this year along side 'noise' - They will be fighting of for golden boot together!  Mr Soccer at the back will clean up any danger all day like he did for the bay and in pre season)
Uni 2v1 Onions (Only if Liam McKinley is available - he is up there with Mr. Soccer in terms of defensive awareness... He is the Gary Docherty of the SPL)
Scum1v1Queenstown (Sam Jasper to snake a late equalizer.  Jasper will run the show this year for Q-town like he did last year in Dunedin)
Braes 2v1 Mollywood (Upset of the round with Ben Eder grabbing a brace.  Watched Braes in pre season and are looking like a good side.  Got a great result against tech and were all over Northern.
Northern 0v1 Southland  (Havent seen Southland play but must be better than Northern)

TAB odds would be as follows

Tech $1.04      Young Fellas $15             Draw:  $6.00
Uni $1.60        Onions $2.45                   Draw:  $2.70
Scum $1.50     Queenstown $3.20         Draw:  $2.50
Braes $2.00    Mollywood $1.50             Draw:  $2.70
Northern $2.50  Southland $1.70          Draw:  $2.90

To win the League:

Caversham:  $1.90
Tech:            $2.10
Roslyn:         $3.00
Uni:               $50.00
Queenstown:$75.00
Mosgiel:        $100.00
Onions:         $150.00
Southland:    $200.00
Braes:           $10,000
Youth:          $50,000
Northern      $1,000,000

Anyone want to make any bets?

I'll put a tenner on pick five combination of Old Men/Onions/Scum/McGarry/Cresswell Utd.

Think I'll go for a multi on M-I-K-E's mob, scum, mollywood, and the barry gardiner (player-coach) led XI. uni and the island to draw

I see on Mr Munro's site that Southland are being coached by the "my left foot", they also have another import, looks very similiar to the coach.
They had a home win against Q/Town 4-2.

Kenny is still employed... but not sure what role?

Waiting for the wisdom of the Truth before placing the final bet...

How the f@#k can you justify the mighty Roslyn being below Tech, I'll just remind you Feedback that Roslyn are the current Pre season champs (beat tech 3-1), we finished 2nd in the league (above tech), made the south island final & have POTY winners in Boylan - 06, Brand - 08 & myself - 09

Is he still eligible for the Youth team?  If so, the Youth players are not realeased to club sides (unless they want to flag a trip to the Milk Cup).

I haven't seen much of Mepham but I have heard good things.  Roslyn have a few decent midfielders already thouhg in Taylor, Keat, Vaughn and Mather.  Mepham would  struggle wouldn't he??

To make the top four would be interesting odds? I would give Mosgiel better slightly better odds.

Can't see anyone getting near Caversham this season, both Tech & Roslyn haven't improved their squads from last season.
