How have kibby and Jordan gotten nz trials and patty Tommy j and Overton haven't gotten a look in. I think ud struggle to find any1 that wud tak either of those guys over the other 3 mentioned. Nothing against those 2 both r good players especially kibby but nowhere near the level of patty etc, wata joke. Apparently no guys from chch or a look in either. Can think of 10 players tht r better from chch. Helps wen ur club coach is gunna be the nz coach aswel I guess. Oh well good luck to the lads that made it!!

mcgarry knows the only way to get semi decent players out to banjo land is to hook them up with nz trials. Kibby? is this the player that couldn't make the under 20's? & has played about 14 games for mosgiel, its all about who you know in nz footy eh

why is mcgarry part of the coaching staff of a nz side, whats he done coaching wise? apart from taking mosgiel to the lofty heights of 3rd in a third rate league & still playing himself?

Lets look the League's best 4 teams Cavy, Tech, Mosgiel, University. It's more a case of who won't be playing. Cavy's best won't be there Fleming, Jackson, Overton, Wild, Chang, Schwarz, Horner.
I can't imagine any of Tech's better players Flaws x 2, Burgess, Smith, Scoullar, Myers, Coburn?. Prattley and Joy maybe will. Mosgiel who would you want? Morgan Day maybe, U23 superstars Kibby and Swaney will be in hot demand up north lol. Most of University's players were foreign students so they will be gone.

2006-07 experience put me off ever playing NZFC for Otago again, if Tony Martin was coach i'd give it a thought

Re the Coach, last week names that were being mentioned were as Otagofan said Neil Mackenzie along with Richie Murray & Andy Duncan

Re nz trials, good luck to those boys but i reckon Overton, Prattley & Fleming deserved a crack too i think the reason Jackson never gets a call up for nz stuff is for the simple fact he's not a nz citizen, i could be wrong there but explains it.

You're right Judda..His NZ passport was due but since he had been out of the country for college for longer than 6 months he was no longer eligble until he stay in the country for a year or so,Real shame as the under 20's coach wanted him for the 20's world cup but he made the choice to go back to the US. thetruthnz2011-09-01 12:16:42

I have heard from a solid source out at Mosgiel that Steve Kibby and Jordan Swaney were both promised trials at the u23 camp as part of McGarry's initial deal for them to sign with Mosgiel

that has been going on for a long time, people think that were not good enough and just hack players. the only problem is that we beleive what they say up north that were not good enough and there for just give in with out trying.

hot tip is that 4 coaches will be in charge of O.U this year, they have to sort out who is doing what. This should be confirmed tonight at the board meeting

CONFIRMED. 2011 Otago United Coach is Ritchie Murray. With the help of Andy (Flipper Cock) Duncan, Neil Mackenzie, Matty Scoles and Tim Horner. Thoughts of this set up? I believe they will do well.

Good start with Horner as he may be able to talk some of the old heads into playing?Murray could get a couple Chch lads to stay and Macca n Scoles will be great with the young guys!

talking to a Mosgiel player this morning, they're pretty confident that they'll win the league next year, he also said Kibby playing rugby is a yarn but said that he was looking at a transfer to a club that plays in the Chatham cup
