Hi
Can someone tell me if the rumours are true that Andy Duncan is not returning for united?
From things ive heard from players mouths, Rich Murray is doing an excellent job, results just havnt gone their way.

Also, have there been any off season club transfers or movements by any players around Otago? I have heard whispers of a few....

Yep heard that Andy Duncan has left OU, this was always the plan as he wants to do more traveling, and good luck to him.

Have also heard that the young lad from Canterbury United Ken Yamato is coming to Roslyn???? But this could always be them sounding better than what they are!!!!!!

Tom Batty [Canterbury Dragons GK] moving to Dunedin this weekend. A good signing for a club down your way.

slightly more on topic Ken Y is a good young player. I'd imagine he's be a boon for any club in Otago.

That makes no sense:

(1) He's a Roslyn boy - his blood is horse coloured and he's staying.

(2) RM isn't the Otago coach next year and no-one (not even me) knows who that is yet - so if he's leaving he doesn't know where he's going.

(3) The real goss is this; Matt Joy is joining Pat Fleming at Miramar because he fancies himself and Ben Sigmund, Joel Stevens is going to Central United, Tom has been signed by the Phoenix cos he's the only one that's any good, Gannon has found God and promises not to kick anyone anymore even if he does play for GI, Day is depressed and is gonna take up marathons now, Liam Little is staying at Cavy as he's settling down and having kids, Jude is quite serious about his football and is going to Three Kings or back to Miramar, Aajay is considering a shift to Aussie, Ferguson is seeing Alcoholics Anonymous, Mepham is going on a spiritual voyage to Nepal, Horner is coming out of the closet, Burgess is staying at Tech and reckons he'll be the FSPL top scorer for the next 10 years cos everyone else is shite, Da Costa reckons the team is doing great but just needs a bit more Cab Sav and sexy football - needless to say he's so popular with the girls his nights are tied up for the next two years in advance and he will continue to look fatigued at training, Colicott is so confused about what to do with his facial hair he's considering joining either a convent or a zoo, Ryder loves his own arse so much he's strained his neck looking in the mirror and is out for six months, Pete Evans is the only normal one and he's just chilling with a beer or two.

It's a democracy (kind of - but don't take me there) Rooster so even if we didn't agree ever it wouldn't matter so much - and I'm only going to Oz so I will be on the forum - just not present at the any games in the near to semi-distant future.

Tom Batty is playing for the mighty Roslyn this season, bout time they replace old man Evans

Big Joe is also talking about going over to Roslyn but don't think Wal is too keen on him (he might send the club broke) with all his red cards

Jess Wright is looking at going back to Moswood as Mike is moving to ChCh to help with the Burnley academy. Brookside is to step up and take 1st team

Malcolm is now the coach of grey hounds as they have been running since last October

Fridge is not worried about Tristen/Joy going as he has depth to cover them(write their name on the trophy now)

Hands Horner is worried how he will go coaching Cavy without any strikers. Is Goven the only striker they have

Northern/ Breas who cares

Leave it with Yellow Beaver. With Horner the lever, Ryder
the weaver, Victor the diva, (and womEn reliever?), Burgess the achiever, Joel
the retriever, Cunningham the deceiver (what pace), Mepham the believer, Little
the breeder (according to Pevin?), Jude the steamer, Gannon the walking
alcoholic edema, Duncan the griever, rich the geezer, I'd say Auckland's score
line will be looking fairly meager.

That's quality Yellow Beaver - well in kind of a GenY kind of way.  So 3-1 loss today and ASB website says Otago not disgraced - well done boys and particularly Regan on the goal - and it seems we had a good period just after that as well  Anyone at the game?

Permalink Permalink

I saw this game and Otago did Ok actually.  Auckland were clearly a class above and had most of the ball, but Otago made it hard for them to get shots on target and there was always a threat on the counter with the pace you had.  And you didn't just lump it forward from the defence which was pleasing. The best players were the Liam Little, the right back, the 2 centre backs, the right wing and the hairy guy that scored an absolute peach of a goal.  The midfielders passing percentage was only about 50%, which is your main problem.  Burgess I've seen a bit of and he still has some talent - he got tired in the heat but the young blonde lad that came on up front looked lively and willing to run at players. So yeah not bad from you guys.
