Could be young cody, but to me not his character although I wouldn't count someone like the young boys out. In my opinion sounds more along the lines of one of the older youth boys who has not quite agreed with the way things have been panning out for the Youth side and its set up. 

I can tell you my days of playing are long gone! Well not that long ago! Could play over 35s but that would be way go easy

Is Roslyn pre season no good for you?

I heard Roslyn pre seasons going pretty well. My eyes are on G.I this season mate

I agree Cody Brook,Jack Kirkwood, should get game time even if they come off the bench.And Jack not being that flash.This will be his 3rd year in 1st grade still only 16yrs old.yes he still has alot to learn and he knows that.His debut was against Uni got 2 goals,then scored goal before halftime against Roslyn, and against Braes.Made under 17 maori team last year scored on debut against a very good under 17 Canadian team.Also played against Auckland city last year in Auckland came off the bench got 20mins.Yeah not that flash eh! Cody the sooner u move to GI the better, the boys out here  are a good bunch you will fit right in lad. At least you will get game time. You put the effort in train hard and listen to whats goin on, you will get your chance.

Heard the boys today played remarklebly. So good to see the results they are getting. Good to see Mepham in the squad, such a nice player, especially at youth level. Next week is a huge opportunity, and I have a good feeling they can win.

Just caught up with this news - bloody fantastic young lads, well done.  And the Phoenix challenge that was meant to be this weekend? My contacts said no-go, really??? That is utter BS if so, why are Otago the ones to miss out?

 Big G. You sound like a moron who doesn't know football. This youth team is now in the final of the Youth National league and to achieve this the team selections must have been ok. You sound quite bittter. Did you personally miss out or did a close family member not get selected.Who out of the eleven or sixteen would you leave out? Doesn't sound like politics to me. Sounds like a team and coaching staff that want to actually win some games. A pity a few more teams from this region don't apply themselves like the youth have and try to achieve on the national stage. Good luck to the youth team for the final.

Scotish Avenger, no don't have a family member in the team.Lets get one thing clear here from what i hear the lads that don't make the team do get pissed for not making the team because as they say they have trained all summer and worked there butt's off. The youth team has trained more than what the first team did. As i have said before would have liked to seen the youth boy's get there with out the help of the senior players just to see how good they really are.I know it's a fine line between winning and blooding young players and it can be hard for a coach to make that call been there done that .And yes the rules do say you can play over age players, but then youth players get dropped from the team that they feel they have been apart of all summer. Wouldn't you be pissed off Scotish Avenger? I know i would be.So how do the young guys get there chance.Maybe the rules need to be changed.And these lads aren't pissed off with the players that come in as they are friends and club mates.They get pissed of with the rules. One other thing very easy for over age players to play down  but very hard for youth players to play up.If you think this is just a Dunedin thing you would be WRONG every youth team in the ASB league is having these very same problems. I know this for a fact. Nothing changes if nothing Changers! Good luck for the final lads will be at the game.Should fly up for the game Scotish Avenger you can stay at my place if you want. Well done to TM, NC & JL they have done a great job by playing are settled 11. The idea about sport is to WIN and not just let people p,ay cos they have trained all summer. These BOYS need to grow up 

 Big G. You don't answer the questions of who should and shouldn't be playing. All well and good talking in general terms with the odd swear word in there to make you sound sophisticated but be specific. Not just who should be playing but where. In a large squad not everyone can play all the time. Would be interesting to see the numbers regarding how many players have been used in the course of the season and received an opportunity. Now lets also get another thing clear here that in football there are no freebies and just because someone trains hard doesn't give anyone a right to play automatically. Actually maybe that is the case at teams and clubs that don't want to win things. Obviously though this isn't the case in this youth team. Thanks for the offer of staying at your place. I'm sure we could have a good discussion. Make sure you let us know who should and shouldn't be in the team and the positions they should play.

The only player you would get from the Youth team and bring up to first team would be Jackson Mitchell. Other than him no one at this stage would be worth anything in the first team. I would have Mitchell over Ridden any day of the week. Big G you sound very sour towards boys missing out in the Youth Team, perhaps a father of a son missing out? Great achievement by Youth team all the best this Saturday.

All sport is political, football especially. Take a deep breath go to training, nut a player smack a goal in.. does good for the stress.

J. Mitchell is off to play with the egg next season anyway, waste of talent really ! Although he might go alright playing some footy.

 I would have to agree stupidasshole... Ridds gets alot of crap! i would say these boys would do fine, Jacko, Geordie, Cam and Ross. The youth conceded less goals than the Mens! They really are taking the piss out of them!!

 It's a final so i would keep same team if all fit and well if not thow Gannon in the mix and Joel in there to if he was avalible but he's off to Auckland. Still need a striker someone who can create goals as well as hold the ball up someone to set Mc Cormick up. Will need that against Auckland, joel would have handled that job no prob.On the bench kirkwood to take L Jackson's place i think he offers a bit more stronger more pace and can  hold the ball up can play attacking mid left or right wing.Also reads the game well and can get back and defend if need be.Tyrell also of the bench offers a bit more than Jess. Better under pressure got a good touch and also reads the game well watched him at Braes last season one to watch in my book.That's it for me SA good to have chatted with you.Thats right trying to be sophisticated  not me bud far from it. Lets just say that we agree to disagree after all it is a forum. And other user's have to realize that we all have different opinions and seems that a few users take things a we bit to seriously. C'mon lads. An Otago team just won it's conference and is 90 minutes away from being national champions, a bit of positivity wouldn't go astray! Go United!!!

Otagofan your not wrong!! We can take Auckland! Best defensive record in the league! The lads have down this region justice already! But when we bring that silverware home on Sunday it will be even better! TM is a great coach!! I believe he should get the 1sts job this year!!
