sam blackburn was on the bench due to brendon macintyre wanting use a rotation policy. it worked REALLy well by the looks of things.

as for everyone getting a turn VS winning there is no reason to debate it.
when your playing 10th grade give everyone a run. when your playing in the top youth league in the country winning is more important. if your not their to win dont bother turning up!

Of course there are positives. In my opinion there are 5 or 6 extremely talented players in this team who will become great players in the future...not just at NZFC level but overseas also.
It just depends on the path these individuals take!!!

I agree with Chareimos...the publicity needs to be greater as these are the players of the future and players potentially playing for the National team.

Double header for the boys next week down South. The Southern test.
Good luck boys

sounds like the Team Welly hierarchy would do well to lift the profile of the youth team, not just for our interest but also to reward and encourage young talented players

(perhaps they should start after the youngsters' next win )

I believe this is the first year that TW have been in charge of the youth team rather than Capital Football.  Might explain some of the changes.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

.......I emailed the TW website contact suggesting that they give the youth team a page. Currently, there is not even an acknowledgement on the TW website that a youth team even exists. I'd like to see fixtures listed, with results, and also a squad list. Not too much to ask, I would have thought.

Totally agree with you there SiNZ - why is that? No mention of the youth at all!

It also allows people to see when youth players have been promoted to a senior game, as in some other NZFC sites...

As a side point it looks like Sam Blackburn was not even on the bench for the 1st team today, so unless he was injured why did he not start the youth game???

Also at the same time it will be nice if they can explain to the public that how come one of the best young talents around meaning George Barbarouses is not involved in the youth team..??

Absolutely Da Boss - now here is a lad who wears his heart on his sleeve and has "passion". He would not only have kept the 1st team honest but would have fired up the youth team for sure.

George B is competitive as they come on the pitch but a hellava nice chap off the field. So whats up with the lad and TW 1st team?

Definetly, class!!!!

Hawkes Bay were terrible. They had a few shocking players.

Well that hardly says a lot for TW Youth then????

So in keepin postive what if any were the postives Feverish?

i didnt see any goals when i was there - which was for about 45min i thought- though apparently it was 4-0 to HB so they must have knocked in some late ones.
TW players looked decent - but played the sideways pass possession game that you quite often get with Wellie youth teams.

Apparently a certain R Hunter scored an early one. After that it took until the 60th for one to be slotted away. The HBU team has a significant range in ability, some fantastic players, some who really shouldn't be playing that level. I guess that is to be expected when picking from a smaller population base (relative to Welly, Auckland etc)
