Who is the most ill-disciplined ASB Prem player?

I've been pondering this question for a while, and since I have some free time I decided I should jump down the rabbit's hole and research it - specifically - which players have received the most bookings and red cards over the past six/seven years?

I have information from the 2007/2008 season, 09/10, 10/11, 11/12, 12/13 and 13/14 seasons to scour through, so it may take a couple of days, so I thought I should open up the floor for suggestions - which player do you reckon would have been booked the most over that timeframe?

My early money is on Chad Coombes. Kudos to anyone who correctly guesses the winner - and if you know - don't spoil the (my) fun.

I'd go Coombes.

Three for me, and two for them.

on a games per card ratio maybe adam mcgeorge?

but probably coombes - he has the amazing ability to turn any sitauation into a fight

Cole Peverly?

Morgan Day from Southern United. He's had more cards than I've had hot dinners

Peverley, Coombes, Feneridis?

Morgan would have to go close. He has an uncanny ability to pick up a yellow very easily. He's played 70+ games in that period as well.

Cowan

Do you know what nemesis means

Research will take 1/2 days, but so far I did manage to uncover this gem:

I would have thought that Coombes, Cowan and Butler based on longevity in the league would be up there. Bill Robertson, Adam Birch (per game) Greg Uhlman, Cole Peverley, McGeorge... perhaps too.

Birch is a great call, he keeps popping up in the 07/08 season, leader in the clubhouse at the moment.

I think Christie would be one as well. I remember there was a whinge 1 year about the suspension kicking in after 4 or 5 games and he missed a couple. (inclusion purely on a cards per game count) I would be interested in a cards per game and also total cards.

RVS might feature as well but you could almost give him a mulligan from when Menapi got him in 'The Equaliser'. Just thinking who else is about. Tim Myers, Andy Pittman, Chris Bale...

It's a real pity Prince Quansah's ASB Prem career didn't last longer, because he'd have run away with the competition.

That tells you exactly why he is not an ASBP footballer......

That's basically the whole Manawatu team from 07/08 for ya. Quansah, Finau, Watson, Nieres, Yackson, hardly heard of any of them, all ended up well up in the bookings tally.

The most impressive thing about this is Mike Hester with some hair.

Ok, so halfway through, just have seasons from 2011/12 to present to go - here's a leaderboard - most booked players in the ASB Prem from 2007-2010:

Cole Peverley 12 yellows, 2 reds

Andy Pitman 12 yellows, 1 red

Chad Coombes 10 yellows, 3 reds

Ian Hogg 10 yellows 2 reds

Wiremu Patrick 10 yellows

Paul Seaman 10 yellows

Adam Cowan 9 yellows, 1 red

Johnathon Taylor 9 yellows, 1 red

Adam McGeorge 9 yellows

Jake Butler 8 yellows

Should straight reds count as 2 yellows , whilst 2 yellows mean a red should'nt count ?

The question you posed with the threads name

"Who is the most ill-disciplined ASB Prem player"

If you are judging this on cards received you are not going to get the correct answer. The number of cards has very little to do with the amount of ill-discipline a player has.

I missed Hogg, Patrick and Seaman. Should have gotten Hogg and Seaman

pitman was a good catch though vader

i saw him get away with quite a few filthy tackles as well

i'm surprised by woody patrick.  that must have been 10 yellows in about 4,000 games or something

trent watson only played the odd game between suspensions which exposes the weakness in the 'total cards' measure

wasn't jon perry a bit of an ax man on his day?

i'm sure if chris jackson stuck around for lomger he'd be on that list

You're right there.

Will do the last three seasons tomorrow, looks like it'll be a good battle between Peverley, Coombes and maybe Cowan for the questionable honor of being the most booked player.

No mention of Adam Dicko in the list (note JV).

Dickinson is currently on five yellows, but factoring in the more game time he's receieved over the past few seasons I predict a slow move up the ladder for him!

yeah, don't speak too soon jerzy

how about bale?  that was a very unimpressive sending off against canterbury.  not dirty, just stupind mind

Bale so far is on 7 yellows and a red, he could definiely be in with a shout.
