Ok, so halfway through, just have seasons from 2011/12 to present to go - here's a leaderboard - most booked players in the ASB Prem from 2007-2010:

Chad Coombes 10 yellows, 3 reds

This is interesting.  I know I am only repeating some of what others have said but it would be more interesting to me if:

(1) You gave 1pt for each yellow and 2 pts for a STRAIGHT red (some of us are a bit confused with your current ranking system)

(2) The pts were aggregated over MINUTES played (tough ask I know).

(3) You did a similar calc for the teams.

In any case based on what you have it's Peverley that looks the most filthy.  He hasn't played as much as the other guys near the top.

I'm planning to convert it into points at the end so will take that suggestion, minutes played is near-impossible, and since this is just meant to be fairly basic I'll keep it as such. I could do the dirtiest teams at some points later on for sure if people wanted it.

Are you using transfermarket.com?

It's a hell of a job you are talking on but the info seems to be there.  For example Peverley:

13/14: mins = 854; 5 yellows (5pts)

12/13: mins = 1221; 6 yellows and 1 straight red (8pts)

11/12: mins = 613; 1 straight red (2pts)

10/11: mins = 612; 4 yellows (4pts)

09/10: mins = 1052; 5 yellows (5pts)

08/09: mins = 1039; 5 yellows (5pts)

07/08: mins = 1176; 4 yellows (4pts)

06/07: mins = 353; 3 yellows (3pts)

This equates to 1pt every 192mins

Coombes is a tool. Surely teams will go 'do I need this guys grief?' 'Do I want to play with 10 men?'

I'm not clear about which period you are considering. From which year onwards?

I take it you mean "ASB Premiership and NZ Football Championship." Remember the national league was "NZ Football Championship" from the 2004 - 2005 season until they changed the name to "ASB Premiership" for the 2010 - 2011 season. The national league was club based before the 2004 - 2005 season. A winter national comp existed 2000 - 2003 (four seasons) known as the "National Club Championship."
 

As pointed out, 2007-2010. And look at the later posts to actually see final figures. Also, it's impossible to get any accurate stats from 2000-2005, so what you suggest isn't able to be counted.
