Hang on a sec. You are way too young to know about classic 70's disco. Only Leggy, JV and I (maybe FT, RedGed and HN as well) know about that time.

Quick test: Do you remember:

1. Norman Kirk, Bill Rowling

2. Grey Holden police cars

3. Dougal Stephenson and the short guy reading the news

4. Dougal Stephenson and Islay Benge on the motoring show

5. 1 and 2 cent pieces.

If yes to ALL of the above you are an old fogey. And if you repeat this quiz 10 mins later you won't remember doing it before.

1 and 2 cent pieces = Yes

The others are all from some strange place that is to the east of where I grew up so no I don't know who or what they may be with exception of #1 who were both Prime Ministers (Bill Rowling was before Muldoon and Norman Kirk was before Rowling! Not sure why the fuck I might actually know that but I do!!!)

Which brings me back to Imagine Dragons...

NO!

Oh I don't know why he's leaving

Or where he's gonna go

I guess he's got his reasons

But I just don't wanna know

And for 24 years i've been living next door to Rolf Harris

24 years just waiting for his chance

To tell me how he feels while he's fondling in his pants

Now I got to get used to not living next door to Rolf Harris

DO IT! This is gold.

As this is a family club, why not get the kids involved to the tune of the Pukeko Stomp?

He steps to the left and step to the right,

Flaps his arm into Cruise all night,

Jumps onto knees and smacks their chins,

Siggy dances, Siggy sings.

Let’s bop around to the Siggy Stomp,

Bop till we drop around the swamp,

Bop around to the Siggy Stomp,

Wobble, wobble, flap, flap,

Stomp, stomp, stomp.

Apologies if this has been suggested before, but what about some variation on the "Danger Zone" song from Top Gun. Even just the chorus with "danger" replaced by "fever". Not very clever or deep I'll admit but it's fun to sing and an easy tune for everyone to get in on

I actually kind of hope we don't just chant that all the time now. I can see it happening.

It was awesome once, lets leave it as an awesome memory until we maybe spontaneously do it again one day in the future.
