I'm in a loud and noisey samba band and we're playing on Sunday for the big first game extravaganza thingee. We're gonna have really big loud drums and really small loud ones as well! Watch out for some big pre-match noise. Football and Samba - loving it!

I think we're down by Greek Fever (opposite end to YF)during game time but maybe we can get some of the tighter crew down to the YF zone to amp things up a bit (not that you'll need it but bigger is better eh!) Might be a bit loose to start with - we don't know the chants yet(hey who does?) - but we'd soon get into the swing of it...

Once we nailed it that could help rock some of the chants along a bit - whatcha reckon?

oh god....

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

You'll be drowned out by the Greek's bells..

I'm sure we'll all be in perfect harmony. We'd hook into whatever worked with the crowd anyway.

But drowned out by bells if we didn't want to be? Maybe if there are a few hundred. Ever heard a samba band going full out? We'd already be toning it down a bit in the interest of avoiding hearing damage.

Hopefully it might give the phoenix Brazilians a bit of extra ginga!

Maracana of the South Pacific - now theres a challenge - wouldn't it be amazing. We've managed to get a little slice of carnival going here in Welly - maybe we can get a wee taste of the torcidas also...

Maracana - its still the biggest stadium isn't it? (100 000ish pax)

I loved the drums personally - well done for bringing some variaty to the sound in the stadium.

At first people hated drums and trumpets etc back home in the UK, however now they're just another part of the beautiful game.

We don't want or need you in the YF zone, go plague the away support!

Aisle 27 reporting. The WALL OF SOUND coming our way from the percussion and the human vocal chords was EXCELLENT!!!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I personally enjoyed the drums and would like to see them again, but they seemed to cause too much distruption with our chantings and yelling. If y'all moved to the opposite side of the stadium, our lads would get awesome support from both sides of the stadium, and you'll be drowning out the away fans instead of us

I agree, love the Samba and drums (from a distance), it's a good bass feel to the atmosphere and raises the pulse a bit - although I agree that they should distance themselves fro mthe YF zone  - so as to not drown out/disrupt attempts to get songs going

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

Drowned + disrupted songs. Go further away towards away support

I think we should embrace the drums. They can only enhance the atmosphere at the games.

Yeah, its great for the atmosphere, i suggest the chanters and the drummers come to an agreement on when to do it by themselves and when play/chant at the same time, such as in the first 5 minutes after a goal and when the nix are on the attack the drummers play and when the nix need a confidence boost the chanters chant!

just a suggestion but it might be a compromise:)

The drums is all good for a while but they have to learn when to stop and when everyones had enough!!!!

eg we clap you off and the announcer says give it up for the drum ppl and then you play again and again????

why?
