Chant going right round the ground

One thing I loved from English games I've been to is when different parts of the crowd compete to see who can be the loudest.

At Brentford (don't laugh )there was one chant where it went from the right to the middle to the left of one stand, each one trying to be louder than the last.

Tomorrow and Friday we should have enough people to do that.

We could do:
We're Aisle 22, Aisle 22,
and we're louder than you
Who's going to be the next loudest aisle?

(yeah, I haven't figured out a tune yet!)

Anyone want to improve on that?

cool idea that could get people into some sort of chanting mood

Allegedly

Like the idea, but could require some co-ordination beforehand. "Louder than you" doesn't rhyme with "aisle 21" for example. But if we can figure out an easy version that everyone can get involved with, I'm all for it

We're aisle 21,
we're the loudest one

We're aisle 22,
and we're louder than you

We're aisle 23,
we're the loudest, are we

We're aisle 24,
with the loudest roar

We're aisle 25,
the loudest aisle alive

We're aisle 26,
singing loud for Phoenix

etc. etc.

Not a fan of aisle 24 for obvious reasons, but the rest are good

There is one stand. Not called anything. Well, if you could call it a stand. The entire stadium is one unit.

Unfortunately, that would be a very Tardish thing to do. The Melbournites are very proud of getting a 'This is North/East/South/West End over here' chant going at Olympic park last year that lasted for about 10 mins

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

Is there anything more self-important than some of that Melbourne fan base ?

We're like the greatest fans ever, you can't oppress us...  just f**k off and support the club as you claim you do.  It's about the club not the supporters.

Sorry, rant over.

My favourite chant from my days at Highbury (RIP) was the individual section chant:

We're the North Bank
We're the North Bank
We're the North Bank Highbury

And then replied to from the other stands getting louder, top stuff, game within a game.

Yeah it's all one unit, other than naming the ends - I've heard the ends referred to as the  City End and Hutt/Scoreboard End by rugby commentators and such. I personally name them in Italian - Curva Sud and Curva Nord.

Five months ago we didn't even have a club and now we've got these precious types criticising even the chants....

What's your criteria for an acceptable chant? Shall we form a football version of the Academie Francaise to vet all proposed chants??
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Especially when started every minute.Drowned out anything the Fever started as well.
Its good now and again but not after every pass is made.

The bangers should be banned....Netball anyone??

The Fever were just to quiet last night. Only heard a few chants from them.

It probably wasn't a matter of us being too quiet, but us being drowned out on account of there being much more noise than usual. It's not a bad thing, it's just something we need to aim to beat so next time we have a 30k+ crowd, should there be one, we'll be ready.

As I stated in another thread, it was very difficult to get anything started in the zone last night due to the dilution.  Arsenal2007-12-02 20:25:00

how about everybody just learn the ring of fire song, awesome song and it would rock?  NO???

Love is a burning thing
and it makes a fiery ring
bound by wild desire
I fell in to a ring of fire...

I fell in to a burning ring of fire
I went down,down,down
and the flames went higher.
And it burns,burns,burns
the ring of fire
the ring of fire.

The taste of love is sweet
when hearts like our's meet
I fell for you like a child
oh, but the fire went wild..

The easier the chant the more easier it is for people to pick up on. But hey the more people come the more they will join in on the chants. Just got to keep on encouraging them to chant others. I sneaked in the fever zone just as we started singing 'stand up for the phoenix'

Great to see half the stadium stand up

A rubbish attempt i know but surely one of you wordmasters out there can do something with it.

I remember that. The Clock end used to reply "We are Clock End, Clock End Highbury" Used to go on for ages. Ahh, the days of standing on the old North Bank.
