It's not the one they play at Canterbury United games is it? The one that goes:

"Football, we love football, yyeeaahh, football, it's the greatest game!"

I hate that song now, I mean hearing it for the first 50 times was OK, but after that it wore thin, very thin indeed.

It's that lame football song that was invented about 20 years ago. It would be a shame if someone actually knew the name of it. Honestly, why can't it be something original or at least in some way related to the nix - like the ring of fire or come on up for the rising (bruce springsteen)

Yes, it's pretty average. When they had that 30mins NZFC highlights show in season 2 that song got on my nerve after about 2 rounds.
What's on the Phoenix hour tomorrow liverpoolfan1???

You're probably talking about Carnival de Paris - da da da, da da da, dadada dadada dadadaaa.  Have a look at the thread with a similar name to this in the chants board.

Yeah, Carnaval De Paris by Dario G.

The der song itself has been sung at English football for years. Despite its repetitive simplicity, it's really effective when you get several thousand joined in. I remember at the penultimate match at the Goldstone Ground when we beat Wigan 1-0 to keep our survival hopes alive (we were bottom of the league at the time and had been for about 200 days - finally got off the bottom one week later). The entire North Stand kept up the der song for 20 minutes solid towards the end of the game. I was not the only one who was hoarse and voiceless next day.

I would rather we got the der song going in all its glory without the help of Dario G. The Dario G version is a bit slow and doesn't kick back in to the "der der..." quickly enough after the "Phoe-nix" shout - that's why we seemed to lose the chant for a few seconds before beginning again when the music picked up the beat again.
