Beneath the stars my ten guitars will play a song for you
And if you're with the team you love this is what you do
And if you're with the team you love this is what you do
Oh, Phoenix, Phoenix, Phoenix to my ten guitars
And very soon you know just where you are
Through the eyes of love you see a thousand stars
When you Phoenix, Phoenix, Phoenix to my ten guitars
And very soon you know just where you are
Through the eyes of love you see a thousand stars
When you Phoenix, Phoenix, Phoenix to my ten guitars
- The revered, and only true Kiwi party song, best sung when half pi%%ed which, of course, makes it the perfect Phoenix anthem.
Regards to Corkster who raised it, and was totally ignored, on the doomed Poi E! thread.

too close to orig in my view and doesn't link much to football/nix players or discos/baked beans etc

I thought the point with 10 guitars was that we were trying to go for something along the lines of "You'll never walk alone" the Liverpool tune i.e. we just sing the song with no altering of words. Otherwise it is a chant rather than a song?
Not a huge fan of 10 guitars personally, but I have nothing to offer in retort so will just shut up

Oh no, hang on, what about War Pigs by Black Sabbath?

Yep the idea was for it is as a sing-a-long, along the lines of what Liverpool and a few other clubs do. But I do like Bopman's reworking of it. (for another verse may be)
And I don't think it's important that everyone loves it, especially if they're living in Aussie. The point is to make the RoF an intimidating place to visit. And even those in sitting in Aisle 32 can sing along to this, though they probably won't be half pissed.

Still reckon the Bird Dance might work, but then I'm always wrong!

Revered? REVERED??? Aaargh... it's a world gone mad.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.
