Hey! well never play David Mulligan
His dead balls they always miss the goal,

Dont! Ever play David Mulligan
Coz he cant head and hes got no ball control

But I gave him my heart and guess what the prick did? Thats right the very next day he gave it away! This year, however, no tears from me as I have given it to Chris Greeneacre!!!

I only suggested (copying) the BOING idea because it's not offensive to anyone, and it's rather funny.

But if you can manage to hush everyone, then I am all for that too :)

So, on the first restart from the keeper, is everyone in the Zone going to be going "SSSSSHHHHHHHHHH" at the top of their voice? Ard Righ2009-09-04 13:10:24

Baggies BOING!

Barnet BOING

Can't ever recall ever hearing of a Phoenix going BOING...

Well, there wasn't much effort put into telling people not to do the 'aaahh' chant, as they were doing it in the 2nd half.

Maybe needs more emphasis? Get Fred Woodcock to slip it into a Phoenix write-up or something :)Ard Righ2009-09-05 20:05:44

It was definately quieter though, so maybe some are getting the message.

You know we belong together...

Given some of the right prats that seem to be in the zone know you have little or no chance of stopping it.Seriously considering sitting elswhere has not been very enjoyable this season at all.

Can't comment on what it's like in the FZ, but this was my first Friday night game and it had a definately different feel to the first game and the ones we went to last season.

Maybe the friday night punters turn up already full of bravery juice and a lot are not the regulars.

I like our seats even tho' we didn't get the ones were hoping for (really enjoyed the first game atmosphere), but for the next Friday game we've decided we'll sit on the other side or maybe in the Family Zone.

Resurrecting this old chestnut.

Was on the fence re the chants @ opposition golakeeper when taking goal kicks.

Am now on the side of the righteous (HN et al) - heard the ahhhh you're "some egested material" on Friday (young lads sitting right behind us) and have to say it was rather pointless and wouldn't do anything to faze the opposition.

In fact the follow-up grunting by the lads really sounded like they were trying to "log a job" themselves.

Silence is golden.

Meh a lot of chants are pointless. Noise is noise.

Loved the starting up of chants on goalkicks HN  you win this round.

As an observation, thought the chanting in general on Friday was disjointed and poor... too many people trying to start too many differnet chants.

Didnt think it was so bad.

Theres always going to be times where more than one chant is going, the dominant chant usually goes on while the other dies out as those people join in the more dominant one.

Most definetly happened in the AWs game, but it was loud as hell and a great atmosphere.

It becomes a bit annoying having to sing "Oh wellington" every five minutes though.

Mods. Make a thread on the main forum with the main chants that are sung.

Or.

Ask the stadium nicely if we can get a megaphone in.
The fever zone was pretty sh*t on friday. Other than the whole stadium chanting, who are ya?

Megaphone? Heeeell to the no! Who makes the person with the megaphone king to start every chant. No thanks.

Hell, chant sheets are a better idea than a megaphone, and thats saying something (they both suck)

no megaphone

and i reckon we should get back to our pre-Bahrainian drum free  days - copying their infection seems unnecessary and unhelpful

it sounded crap on tv after the game and was a drag at the time

...drums, horns and sh*t chants at goal-kicks are the reason I've stopped coming to the games.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Well, how about the one suggested in the 442, thread...
West Brom used to do a good one - the big... Oooooooooooooohhhhhh... Build up then 'boing!' when the keeper hit it, wait, wait, wait, 'boing!' for the first header or bounce, and on and on until 'regular' play resumed when someone got it on the floor. Was very amusing to hear them do it.
At least that might get some reaction from the home crowd...

That's funny as! I'm all for it!

Sounds OK and easy for the newbies in the home crowd to catch on to it plus Rugby or most other sports can't pick this up.

I'm still trying to get the guys in my area to be quiet but someone close by always starts up and others just "follow"

Next season, guys... next season... We will persevere.capes2010-03-03 12:22:44

I'm slightly disappointed!

Why would you want people to be quiet during a football game?

Just because you dont like a chant, doesnt mean you should shhh everyone (Ive actually seen this happen, with this chant and whenever santy wants to do disco,is ridiculous).

If you dont like it,just dont join in. Simple.
