Vince Lia has been good since returning to the side. He makes a lot of tackles & intercepts and his ball distribution is better than most others in the phoenix. see 1st half of glory game for examples (ignore 2nd half :P).

I propose the following chant (or variant of it) for him:

(to the tune of louie louie)
Lia Lia,
oh Vinny,
go on and score a goal
yayayayayaya

I remember back in season 1 or 2 of the A-league and seeing Lia and Ferrante one night after a match at a pub in Collingwood (i.e. the were both still at Melb Victory at the time). Funny stuff.

Lia has made a real go of it this season, possibly to help himself make up for last seasons injury. I know he's not the bees knees to some but he playts as best as he can for as long as he can. Some are knocking the Brown/Lia midfield but these guys do the job, spoiling the oppositions build up and winning the hard tackles. It might not be pretty but it needs to be done.

Sure a few passes go astray, every midfield does that though. I think these two have formed a good partnership and over all it has helped improve the balance of the squad. It's now up to the likes of Ferrante or Diegp to step up a mark or two to push them.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

They're always together now as well.

I think the off season is driving me nuts. I'm having crazy thoughts, wanting ABBA songs used for tunes of chants. Fernando for Hernandez, Waterloo for Wellington and worst of all Mamma Mia for Vinnie Lia.
