Australian mate of mine who has been following football religiously for 30 years and has absolutely hated NZ since knocking the Socceroos out of 1982 World Cup qualifying told me he is really impressed with Yellow Fever, i.e. the passion, the chanting and traditions such as shirts off after 80min. It comes across really well on TV.

I think there are more than a few people in Australia who have noticed this, particularly this week. It is one of the things that justifies the Phoenix's participation in the A-League and building credibility of the club in the eyes of the often skeptical Australian football community.

Well done to you chaps in Wellington and long may it continue and build.

Done a great job alright.  I couldn't really hear them much at all at the last game, but in seasons 1 and 2 they've been immense and I was pleased to have been a part of it for about 4 games.

We do try and slip back-patting in to the angst forum, but today we're basking in the glow for a few hours before I move it.

For fun I have joined the GCU and NQF fan sites, to see what they say. Let me tell you loud and clear, they are completely hopeless, clueless, rudderless, witless

What makes this site so good is that it is well moderated and has a passionate core that has been involved from the start and has guided it in the right direction. Love the humour on here too.

Nothing, I repeat, Nothing beats Yellow Fever

I brought an oldie with me to the game so i was all the way in aisle 29, but the fever zone looks fantastic (the new nix strip stuck out well) and i had to point out to my companion when he commented on the strange behavior (his first nix game) that if he wasn't with me, id be in the middle of it.

The atmosphere in the Charles Dickens in Melbourne has been getting noticed too. We actually got to watch the 2nd half of the match on Sunday on the big screen and not the tiny one in the corner!

Yays for us!!!

I think the Fever is hands down the most organised supporters club in the league!

Ive taken a few rugger- heads to 'nix games and they all remark how its just a great big party and how we let go the emotion. Long may good support continue! topiary2009-08-19 11:41:38
