Have to take 1 day off work but it can be done.
Remember there's Air NZ, Qantas, Jetstar and Pacific Blue to use.

You will have to take 2 flights - nothing direct between Wellington and Adelaide.

My sister and I are flying to Adelaide from Melbourne Fri afternoon to support the Nix. Would love someone to bring over a Yellow Fever flag! Hope some of the other Kiwiï¿½s living in Oz will join us...!

There's quite a few hotels in the CBD on wotif.com.au for $100 AUD or less. Buses run from North Terrace or Currie St to Hindmarsh Stadium. It's only about 4 km so taxi is an option too.

We're at Adelaide Paringa on Hindley St. I've stayed at Mercure Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide before. The economy room was v gd, if you don't mind v small bathrooms...

Yeah my partner and i will be flying from Melbourne on Friday avo also. Gotta get amongst it, that Adelaide Victory game was riveting on Friday, if the atmosphere is anywhere near that it'll be a great night. Plus a phoenix win followed by a Victory defeat of the Gold Coast so don't have to travel for next weeks game :D

I used think there was no chance of a home game in the finals. It defies logic, but the A-League have the Nix v Ade game on Fri is listed as Match B. The winner of Match B gets a home game for the second final v the winner of Match C.

So... if we win in Adelaide = Gold Coast or Victory at the Caketin?

I thought that if you finished 6th there was no way you can get a home final.

Wouldn't really make sense that if you finish higher then the Nix and then win your game and you have to go down and play in Wellington.

Yeah, the Gold Coast vs Victory match might have moved to Melb, but looks like they are staying with Skilled Park.

No chance of a home game (Skilled Park surface issues notwithstanding) as I'm sure everyone is aware.

Extract from the A-League rules summary document (on official A-League website) ...
"Teams 3 & 6 (Match B) and 4 & 5 (Match C) will play-off with the winners from each of these matches to face each other in Match D (week 2) of the Hyundai A-League 2011 Finals Series.
Teams 3 & 4 will be considered the ï¿½homeï¿½ team for Matches B & C.
The highest placed team to advance to Match D will be considered the ï¿½homeï¿½ team".

I've asked a friend from Adelaide to recommend a pub. Meanwhile, I found The Jolly Miller Tavern, only about 5 mins walk from the ground. They have several beers on tap, incl Coopers, and they serve meals.

There's also a couple of pubs at the southern end of Port Rd:

Tiger got me to and from last year's Sydney final on time. Just allow plenty of time for check-in. You can only check-in the old school way - by joining a queue. And don't even think about having over-weight luggage!

I've just booked my flights! Leaving Thursday and coming back Sunday. Can't wait!

Keen to find out where others are stay before I sort out accommodation. If anyone else is going over alone we could suss accommodation together to keep it cheap. Let me know.

I found a forum the mentions The Rosemount and The Elephant. The latter is an English pub that screens all the Premier League games so would be an obvious choice for the Red Army. But it is closer to the Ade Oval.

Man, I'd love to go. I like Adelaide (the city, not the team).

Sadly, even watching the Nix beating the Cakes wouldn't be worth the divorce proceedings I'd come home to.
