Not sure if this is the right place to put this but Brownie and I are meeting at Barfifa on Dominion Rd (above Glengary's) for the game on Sunday - I was there last Sunday and there were half a dozen or so of us. Really football friendly bar, they have Setanta on as well so you can usually follow a couple of games on the multiple screens.

See you there - be good to get a bit of an atmosphere.

Cheers and Beers

Phew - that's a relief - first thing I've been right about for awhile - having said that if the Mrs was on here i'd have been wrong regardless.

Shouldn't Brownie be playing (or on the bench) instead of at a pub when the game is on?

That is what is wrong with this team - no discipline.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

be where? we've still got two strong contenders for official yellow fever auckland pup. I've been to Four Nations both weeks and its been good, even got a round of Wellington Is Wonderful in after the Bertos goal. And the bartender wore a nix hat for round one.

I haven't been to either but I vote Four Nations for the cheap pints and central location.
I can't make it this weekend anyway but I will do my best to be along next Sunday.

What's Four Nations like? Is it a case of they will roll out the red carpet on Sunday but shove us in the corner with no sound on Friday? Or is it a smaller, sport orientated bar?

Also, perish the thought but will the Nix get snubbed for egg chasing on a Friday or Saturday?

We'll do Barfifa this week - maybe could look at Four Nations for the next game.

I've got a few other mates coming down as well, so we should have a good turnout.

f**k I hate Brisbane - go the Nix!

Barfifa was pretty cool - quite a few phoenix supporters! Its a complete football bar!!
Im afraid four nations will be alright on sundays but fridays and saturdays might not be the same!!

Fewer at Four Nations today, still a good vibe. Just how good is this barfifa though? I had four beers for fourteen dollars today, it's going to take a lot to compete in this regard.

Barfifa is pretty much a shrine to football  and for this reason alone should be supported. It was my first visit and a reasonable size crowd on Sunday who were all pleased to see Greenarces equaliser go in. Suspect  rugby or League will never get priority here and they also have SPL/EPL from Setanta on a few screens.

Not sure on all the prices, but if you need cheep beer do some preloading as the industry watch dogs say.

Challenge for the Bar is to get the new Phoenix shirt on the wall.

My thoughts exactally, my Sunday business will go to a location that will allow me to watch the Nix on a Friday and/or Saturday as opposed to one who chucks it on when there's nothing oval happening.

Four Nations, for sure, wouldn't be up to much phoenix wise on a friday or saturday. This however is due to it being a faux-irish viaduct suit bar and not blind devotion to the oval codes. I'll need to go to this barfifa to be convinced it's worth the extra cost. Also not convinced by this "pleased to see Greenarces equaliser go in" nonsense, I hope you mean, "we had to apologise to the bartenders profusely for all the spilled beers and knocked over chairs that followed the equaliser going in"

Really? Didn't think anywhere in NZ showed it! Wish there was somewhere in Wellington that had the Aussie satellite for Setanta

In hindsight I guess it makes sense to support a bar that will allow us to enjoy the nix on friday, saturday or a sunday ! Barfifa it is !

I will go to wherever the majority go, where abouts is this Barfifa game?

It's on Dominion Road - above Glengarry.

They had buckets of Carlsberg on Sunday - 4 for $20. Not as cheap as Four Nations but still not bad.

We'll be there on Sunday for the Sydney game - definitely worth coming along!
