Try 4 Nations - also in the Viaduct. Went there for a couple of WC games (as well as Fox's) and it was a bit more low key, not as many, if any, town-dickheads.
A bunch of us road tripped down to Welly for the Boca game and that was awesome fun. I'd be keen on a couple more this season.
But in the mean time us Aucklanders definately need _a_ spot to watch the games and support the team at.
I reckon the easiest way these days is to start a Facebook group to organise gatherings and events. Bar's would probably be keen on doing a drink special.
You could PM BigDunc and see if he knows anywhere through NZ breweries that might be keen to provide some discounts and be branded as Aucklands home of the Phoenix.
Failing that the Phoenix might be able to get DB to do something seeing as the club have moved breweries.

Yeap I agree with four nations.
I will get in touch with them and see what they say

NHP let us know how you get on mate.
I'm catching up with a couple of mates over the shore tonight so going to watch the game in Taka, maybe the Irish pub but they may have egg-ball on. If thats the case then will head over to Sin Bin as they're sure to have Nix on one of their screens.

Went to Four Nations for pretty much every game last year. They were good to us but only because we had ins with some staff who were semi-Phoenix fans (who aren't working there anymore). Even then, they wouldn't generally put the sound on for us unless we sat outside and huddled around that one individual speaker. Sundays were better, but on Friday and Saturday nights they always have live music inside. So not really ideal.
I know Fox's has a lot of nobs and that, and it's on the gross viaduct, but they do seem to be actively making an effort to bring in Phoenix - which is more than I can say for any other bar in Auckland.
I asked them on facebook and they claimed that they will be playing EVERY Phoenix game live with sound this season. So I'll be down there tonight, decked out in all the Nix gear I own (one Fever-Tee). I like the effort they've made so I definitely think it is worth testing the waters.

I'm inclined to agree. I'm not yet a Auckland Feverite (I'm in the 'mandel for another month), but once I'm back in the '09 I'll see you all at Foxes. It's close to my new workplace, which I like!

Will do.
I know the person who runs the irish pub. Not to sure if he will put sound on though.
Sin Bin is a good place but will have rugby on with sound. So just depense if you want sound or not.

I think the nobs only turned up for the All white games and jumped on the bandwagon. Most of them will hardly support the phoenix, let alone going out to watch them

Irish Pub at Taka turned TV over to Nix when we asked which was awesome so watched the whole game there. No sound though was the only downside. Good food and beer was a plus.
Wouldn't watch every game there as no sound but for a double up with catching up with mates was pretty good.

To those who are skeptical, Fox's were great last week. They put the game on with sound on all their tvs, including one projector screen - even though those watching the game were in the minority. Come on down today if you can. Say hi, I'm the arts student who needs a haircut.

I'll see you in a few weeks when I'm back living in the 09. I'm the one with the glasses.

Fox's have told me they are playing every game live with sound this season. Even when stuff clashes with other stuff, they have different rooms for different games. It'll be on for sure.

Good news then, cheers sneakyrat. Tee-ing up a few lads to attend I hope, got 3 so far.
Think I'll wear my stripey if anyone's there and wants to say hello.

Try Foxes Ale House on the waterfront. Don't know if anyone else will be there, but that place seems likely to be the home of the Fever in Auckland. I'll be watching the games there in the future.

Alright, I am now once again a dirty Aucklander living with my parents' who don't have Sky. Who's joining me at Foxes tonight? I'll be wearing either my RR09, stripey, Nix jacket or all three. I'm the one in the middle of my avatar, I should be there with the "Asian-Uruguayan" to my right (my lucky bastard brother in the Brasil shirt will be at the game, prick). Say hi. The name's Paul, surprisingly, by the way. Hope to see some of you there.

Does anyone know if they are playing the game at Foxes for sure? I'd hate to head in for them only to showing eggball.

Foxes have a few screens so I am sure they would show it on one of them. But I would give them a ring first and see if they are showing it with sound.
