Great pizzas, big outdoor garden bar they built before the rugby world cup.

I was getting an X-ray at Mercy Ascot in Newmarket today and there was a guy sitting next to me in a stripey and dreadlocks. We had a quick bitch about certain awful refereeing decisions.

Same old story, Don't know about other people. But if the Nixs are on a Sunday they normally show it. If it is on Friday or Saturday good luck getting it on. I normally just stay at home and have a few mates over to watch it.

Follow up to my Auckland weekend....
Rang various places...
Kingslander said they would show it with no sound. It was the best I could find. But wait, there's more...
Taiko Bar. I went there first and the manager there remembered me from the last Nix game, "You're with Yellow Fever". He also remembered Brandon well. Anyway, he doesn't have Sky, but went to Kingslander to make sure I could watch it. They said yes. Then as I was drinking my first sake, a Kingslander barman turned up and said, no they couldn't show the Nix game (only two Sky decoders and 2 big groups wanting to watch the rugby and cricket). He and Taiko guy suggest The Fat Controller over the road.
The Fat Controller. Pretty quiet bar, but the manager said yep, I could watch with no sound. So phew, yay, pictures anyway.

The lads and I are making another road trip down to Wellington this time for the CCM final home game on the 25th March!

This will be our 4th or 5th such trip in the last couple of years (Boca Juniors, Home Semi v Newcastle and Perth game where Reddy almost scored v Velaphi, and maybe another, cant remember)and will be sandwiched in between days at the Basin watching us pummelling/getting the Saffa's!

Always an enjoyable trip and just doing our part as supporters of the Phoenix, beefing up Wellington economy whilst maintaining a certain standard as to not tarnish the image of the great city that is Wellington!

Anyone else from Auckland heading down that weekend? We'll be leaving Friday, staying a night in Taupo, cricket Saturday, Sat night shenanigans, recover Sunday @BB, nix, Sunday half day cricket/back to Auckland.

Cant wait!!! Crockett2012-03-07 21:17:31

Hey there fellow JAFAs,  I just saw this pop up on Twitter:

http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/wellingtonphoenix/news-display/Phoenix%20Introduces%20Its%20International%20Supporters%20Club/48325

Phoenix Exiles clubs. Kind of the "official" supporters arm of the Phoenix reaching out to other cities in NZ and around the world.

Who here is keen to set up in Auckland and make sure the Yellow Fever has a decent representation?

Any idea where the best nix-watching bar in Aucks is this season?  Is Bar-fifa still going? Incidentally, nix shirts make great biking-to-work visibility strips. Increases average time between near-death experiences from 2.5 mins to 4.8 mins!

Foxes in the Viaduct was pretty good for the UCL Final, and the Euros.

Good food, screens everywhere and a loyalty pointy schemey thing that eventually brings free beer

Yeah Foxes is the word apparently. Just talked to the Bar Fifa guy, now called Bar Eden.

Me: "So, do you play a lot of soccer"

Him: "No, we're really a sports bar."
