Will be attending foxes on Sundays ( unless foxes can guarantee they are going to show the Saturday or Friday games ) With a few mates

Permalink Permalink

Just got off the phone from the guy at Foxes.

Money quote: "We will guarantee playing (with sound) all Phoenix games". Other A-league games guaranteed to play, but not necessarily with sound.

This Saturday: Guaranteed to play with sound, in the back bar (which is he says "huge", Projector (or 2 maybe) plus 2 TVs, 2 pool tables).

I'll be there propping up the bar.

Sound's alright. Just note they have said that before and not come through. I would make it but I have our end of year footy drinks

Great, hoping to be there as much as possible again this year. I'm heading down to Wellington for this weekend, but see you other 5 or 6 guys that like football in Auckland at Foxes for the rest.

stupid brothers stupid birthday on Saturday, so no live Nix this weekend. Have to record and watch later.

Keen as for future games though.

Probably Foxes in the Viaduct as your best bet. Havent been there for a Phoenix game, but they went off for the Euros and Champions League Final

Well, I'll be at Foxes tmrw night, barring disasters and accidents. No word on whether I get to be Supreme Lord President of the Auckland Fever yet, though.

 How was Foxes?

Permalink Permalink

Was OK, they came through with a projector, sound & a reserved "fever" table. Maybe 10-15 people there. Beer about standard price for the viaduct.

@ the guy who's name I can't remember but is a regular at The Fox (and who I met in Burger King one time) - don't think we didn't see you come into The Fox, look around, not see us and leave. We were yelling out! They had a area set up for Nix fans and everything. Way to give up!

ahh bummer. That was probably been me- went to the Sky Sports Bar cos they've always got 3-4 feeds. It's fairly intimidating when they've got those fights on in the Fox! Plus they had the rugby too. Oh well, next one I guess. Will definitely be there at some point this season.

haha, we were in the room with the rugby. saw you come in and look around blankly!

We gotta get down to some more games, Auckland.

"Air New Zealand is launching a new daily Night Rider™ service with every seat on the aircraft available at a fare of $29, for the last flight of the day between Auckland and Wellington.

The new service will add the equivalent of around 100,000 ludicrously low cost seats per year between the two cities. Flights will depart from both Auckland and Wellington at 10pm every night Sunday-Friday. On Saturdays Night Rider™ will depart Auckland for Wellington at 9pm, with the return leg departing Wellington at 10.30pm. $29 ‘Seat’ fares are available on every seat on the 133 seat Boeing 737 aircraft – or ‘Seat+Bag’ for $39 one way."

More potential for Phoenix daytrips?

Could you get to the airport in time for a 10 / 10:30 flight after a 7:30 kick off game?

Permalink Permalink

That would be tight.

But most games are 4:30 kickoff on a Sunday so that's pretty perfect.

Either fly down in the morning, or night before. Back for work on Monday. Perfect!

Permalink Permalink

True. Plenty of time for pre- and post-match pubbage.

$78 return if you fly there and back on the same day. Very tempted by the game against the Del Pieros on December 9th.

Anyone here own a pub or knows someone who owns a pub and wants to get folks together for games?

Permalink Permalink

I wrote to them volunteering my service as Head Bitch-Puppy in Charge of the Auckland Nix but they never got back.

But I redeemed my 1 free ticket for the Eden Park game just now. I was one of the first so I pretty much got front row center.

I always think you get a crap view in the front row at Eden Park.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Ha-ha, that's why I moved back to the SECOND row. And I'll be standing with the Fever anyway.

Glenfield? I highly highly doubt it.

Any Aucklanders keen to play some summer footy in Te Atatu Peninsula?

We've got 3 games left on Wednesday nights (including Waitangi Day), after that we enter a 11 a side Sunday team starting in April/May.

Was great fun kicking around with the Fever before the Eden Park match.  Shirts are provided, fees are all paid up, all you need are boots and shorts - if anyone is interested giz a txt/call on 0275242506. Mike
