Away vs Tards, Melbourne 13 Sept

All booked and can't wait - persuaded (very easy sell) some of family to make the trip so have a group of 8 going.

At the Roar game in Brisbane last year met some very passionate Nix supporters up from Melbourne so hopefully will meet up again at the Dome.

Any others going over or will be there ?

Yep. All booked up for me and Mrs Capes. Flying out on the Thursday. Just need to locate a couple of Yellow Fever Away shirts

I'm slightly disappointed!

Should still be here to lead the tour again!!!

Should I organise us some "trouble" pre and post match?

hehe

Is there a pub close to Dome where Nix supporters can meet up for a few quiets before the game ?

I know it's months away but somehow seems closer if there is chat about arrangements.

Last time I was there in Jan 08 we all met in the Celtic Club and that was perfect.....just a 10 min stroll down the hill complete with Police escort....

C-Diddy will show you where not to go and how not to behave......

This season I think we will take the pre/post match deep into enemy territory. Just for sh*ts and Giggles!

Are we going to need some official YF face masks to protect us from the ever increasing Swine Flu pandemic that appears to be taking over the world?

A beer glass will be sufficient!

Yes, but which size beer glass will is be? I see in Victoria they sell beer (questionable description) in Schooner, Pot, Glass, Small Glass, Pony, and Pint.

I also see that a small glass in Vic. would be the same as Bobbie in WA where a Middy is the same as a Vic. Pot measure. They also sell a measure called a Shetland which is 115ml (which sounds more like an approriate name for Whisky drinking)

I suppose that I'll have to do a few trials and work out what the best beer size to mouth ratio will be with respect to flu precautions whilst still having the ability to abuse the Tards, provide witty and insightful remarks and celebrate Paston scoring against Moss from the edge of his own area!

The only excuses for having less than a pint in your hand are:-

a) You're Driving home

or

b) Its started off as a full pint!

END OF...

Fair point C-Diddy, and one which I mulled over this lunchtime whilst drinking many proper pint sized pints. I shall ensure my pint glass is at least half full at all times during my temporary staf in Milbin.

I'm slightly disappointed!

And me.  I have a few local kiwis who should be tow.

Looking like a good crowd we've got.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Thats ok, I'll be in Palmy for the Smurf match! I'll make sure Smithy comes back in one piece (or potentially a One Piece if I take him to the wrong bar!)

They are available now on Ticketmaster Australia but the system doesn't seem to allow you to specify the Away Supporters Area - you need to make sure you get tickets in this area.

I'll just get my tickets from the stadium the morning of the game unless I can figure out how to work the Ticketmaster system.

Cheers for the advice. Maybe we should work out how many are going from NZ and try and get a bulk lot so we aren't sitting in different corners of the stadium only for the local stewards to think it funny to not allow us to move. I've watched a various sports live in Aus. (not football yet) and different places/codes had different policies.

I'm sure someone who has already been to a Tards game should be able to advise.

I'm slightly disappointed!

they basically have to let you go there if you are an away supporter. Just say you fear for your life from the stabby tards.

ok, so what isle will you lot be in ?

I emailed Ticketmaster Australia yesterday asking if they could please make it possible to buy tickets on-line for the Away Supporters Zone.

They replied today saying they would make the necessary change to the system today (how's that for service).

I'd give it a day and you should then be able to select the Away Supporters Zone when you buy your tickets on-line.

Alright lads, nothing definite, but a proposal.

If we were to do a Fever T for away jaunts who would be starter to buy one ?  We've had an idea put to us, but to make it financially viable we'd need more than 2 or 3 people to agree to purchase.

If we had a t made that was kind of a badge of honour only available to those who have attended an away match would people be keen ?

Chucked it in here as this seems to be the match we'll have the most at early season.

I'm in for at least one - more depending on price (have half the whanau going to the Melbourne game).

I really like the badge of honour concept for those who have made it to an away game.

Definately would be up for it. Put me down for 2 please (one for me, one for Mrs Capes. XL will be fine for both to keep your costs down). A "reverse retro rikki" would be my preference.

Cheers
