Have never been to Etihad .. should we be nervous after this happened last night? Hopefully nowhere near the away fans zone ...

You'll be fine. A few 15 years olds in the 'northern' end of the ground set off a flare the other night. The kid got caught and the rest of the crowd laughed when this happened.

All good, enjoy it here. It's a good atmosphere.

What pubs are the Nix meeting at?  Im excited at seeing ma first Nix game.  Can  we post it here or will Melbourne munters hunt us doon at the pub?

Working in Melbs at the minute and staying in the Quest hotel outside the Etihad (Wellingtonian living in Edinburgh and currently seconded to dirrrty Oz!).

Went to the Victory v Sydney match last month.  0-0.  Who do I ask to get $20 and 90mins of my life back?  Fekkin woeful.  If Victory play like that we'll gump 'em 5 zip.  My Nanna and her pals coulda beaten both of them teams that night.

How old is Leggy?  Is he 12 or 72?

Was thinking of gathering at the Celtic Club again.

I will post details on here in the next day or so. Need to find out if they are open as Tuesday is a Public Holiday here.

Will they do gate sales for visitng fans, or is booking ahead advisable? I was assuming the ground wouldn't sell out so there wouldn't be any problem picking up a ticket on the day.
And would definitely be up for a pre-game bevvy or three.

OK Celtic Club closed on Tuesday 26th. I will come up with a solution to this minor problem over the next 24hrs or so

We're staying in a hotel in the Docklands so I'll be walking round and round in circles :-)

Transport it is then. I plan on buying my ticket at the gate so might have to leave a bit early though.

lol. Good luck with that.
Aye, there's not much chance of cramming in there before the game.  It's rammed, even when they play against pish teams.

It's Ocker Day too so I expect it'll be full early doors.

Horrible result and a tiny Melbourne crowd out for the game.

Anyone know the Nix fan in the away end who was incapable of holding on to his pint?  Think he spilt 5 pints by my count including a stunning 4-cup-drop at one point. Taxi for that chap.

Warm day, last day of a 4-day long week (for many).

No "marquee" player from Welly to draw a crowd in (half tongue in cheek here)

Just got back to Wgtn last night .. we ended up sitting in the upper level, just above the home fans at ''their" end .. quite a sight to hear and see .. esp the pack leader with the megaphone going full bore all game.

But yes, absolutely safe, all fears unfounded. In fact we got more comments leaving the Perth game than Melbourne .. everyone very pleasant indeed!

There you go. The bloke with the megaphone I am assuming would have been Tunna, He's on the Victory forum. He's got a shaved head if it's the bloke I am thinking of.

Was that the North End, South End or East End Victory?

Lols .. had quite lost my sense of the compass but it was the end that you enter the stadium through ... North End I believe as they set up a chant that went round the stadium in turns ... In the NOrth in the North in the  North (or something like that)  .. and then the South   / East in turns.
