Allardyce Blasts Bolton Demise
One year after his departure from Bolton Wanderers, Sam Allardyce has launched a stinging tirade at those in charge of his former club.
Allardyce left the Reebok Stadium last summer to take up the post at Newcastle United, which in hindsight proved to be a disastrous move for all concerned.
Big Sam was sacked by the Magpies in January after failing to implement his Bolton blueprint on Tyneside, while the Trotters now lie in serious danger of relegation.
Improved form over the last three weeks has seen Wanderers jump out of the drop zone to 16th for the time being, but even survival will not hide the fact that this season has been a massive disappointment for Gary Megsons men.
And Allardyce is appalled at the current state of affairs at Bolton, insisting it is hugely upsetting that the team he lead to the UEFA Cup last term may find themselves in the Championship next season.
Upsetting
The team I left had just qualified for Europe again and finished seventh in the Premier League, the former Bolton boss said. They should have picked it up and gone on from there but, unfortunately, havent.
To see the demise of a team put together over a long period of time and then virtually all pulled apart is quite sad and upsetting for me.
I am not just talking about on the field but off the field.
If It Ain't Broke ...
Sammy Lee initially took the reigns following Allardyce's departure, but an awful start to the season saw him replaced by Megson in October.
Both Lee and Megson insist that Bolton was in decline when they took charge, but Big Sam has hit back by claiming that it is his successors' attempts to revamp the team's style that has seen Wanderers plumet toward the foot of the table.
It wasnt broken, so I dont know why all the different people tried to fix it differently," Allardyce said. "But they have and it hasnt worked. I left them in great shape.
As for mis-management, I cant comment because I wasnt there. But from a distance, thats what it looks like.

"Blasts", "Tirade"! Everytime someone in England makes a critical comment of ANYTHING the journos here describe it as a "blast" or a "tirade" . . . English Press = the worst in the world.

The fleet street tabloid crew are world reknown for not having a life so they spend thir lives making everyone elses lives miserable. Often it's not reporting the news. It's creating it and hence they end up in court losing yet another slander case.
Phil you're pretty much correct on your assumption of the english reporters. I won't call them journalists because most are not worthy of the title. They're just scumbags making a living out of making other people miserable.
