Arsenal's signings
Ribery was probably the most rumoured in-bound signing but has now signed with Bayern Munich. I wouldn't have minded him either.
Malouda is another French winger we've been linked with, but it seems Liverpool are also pretty keen on him. And they certainly have more funds available, albeit US dollars.
One thing is for certain - we need wide midfielders. If we don't bullk this area up I cannot see us challenging for the Premiership next season.
In terms of outbound action, the rumour mill is running wild re: Henry leaving for first Barcelona and now AC Milan. I hope he stays. If he goes we are going to need a mammoth signing to replace him and I don't see where they are going to come from (Eto'o might prefer the aforementioned US$).
Where have all these rumours about Henry leaving come from, can someone put up a link. And I think it's ridiculous that everyone bags Arsenal for not having many English players... who cares what race they are as long as they are good footballers, it's almost verging on the lower end of the scale of racism.loyalgunner2007-06-09 21:32:58
Never occured to me it could be rascist to suggest an english club side keep some decent english players.
A - Henry will not leave, speculation is speculation.
You make a good point re: methodical transfers at Arsenal. I agree. However, do you honestly think we don't need some fresh blood out wide?
Steve:
A. I don't believe Henry will leave. I was just putting it out there. This morning his agent rubbished such claims.
B. And English players tend to be substantially overpriced.
C. Interesting - I thought perhaps that pic at the tube station was a fake. TBH I quite like the new away shirt and will undoubtedly pick one up for the forthcoming season (I don't care if Spurs wear white...we'll perform better in it than them :P ).
Henry had his chance to join Barcelona last season.
Fredrik Ljunberg hear hes still a great player he just needs his red go fast hair back. Who
Agrees bring it back Fredy

People from other teams see how Arsenal are better than their team and look for something about Arsenal to complain about, and they see the lack of English players. If Arsenal had a squad full of English players I don't think people would be complaining about the race of the players, so, if they are complaining about thei race of the players now then you could say that it is bordering on racism. I know Arsenal are an English club, but it doesn't matter where the players come from as long as other English players are getting chances to turn pro elsewhere in the country (it isn't like in NZ if you get turned down by the Phoenix there is nowhere in the country you can go where there is a pro football team).

And of the big clubs in England, how many are owned by the English?
1.
Arsenal.
Really H8WBA, you're coming across pretty poorly.
Plus he just signed a 3 year deal with Ajax 4 months ago (for what it's worth).
he Javier Saviola sounds like a good choice as maybe a Reays replacement but how much will wenger be prepaired to spend on a 26year old... although thats still young its not reali wengers style
Out of those three - Anelka by a country mile if the price is right!
I think the two brazilian midfielders we have are good enough to have kept Baptisita out of the squad. Gilberto is becoming more important as the years go by, and Denilson looks to be another one of Wengers super buys (Denilsoin is the current brazilian under 20 captain)
I think we are ok for strikers atm (baring alot of injuries or the Henry exodus) some more cover in defence is required. I dont think Toure and Gallas complement each other well, Senderos has potential but he took alot of stick last year after being shown up by Drogba. I just wonder who we have as cover for Clichy if he gets injured. Im not sure Hoyte is that good on the left, and that doesnt leave us with an obvious choice for a replacement.
UberGunner2007-06-21 09:56:42Apparently Traore is Clichy' understudy.
