Toure, Gallas, and Senderos are quality defenders, and our up and coming defenders are class, but they just don't have experience. Over the off-season I think Wenger needs to get one more top class defender.

By the way, when Rosicky signed for Arsenal last season, how long was it for? Because he is a great player and we need to keep him.

Arsenal rejected Barcelona's Eto'o in Henry talks
Arsenal were offered Samuel Eto'o by Barcelona during negotiations on Friday over the sale of Thierry Henry, it has been revealed.

AS says Barca vice-president Ferran Soriano proposed a swap involving the Cameroon international, but Arsenal rejected the offer, insisting they were happy with the 16 million cash agreement and would go elsewhere to find Henry's replacement.

Barca's board are reportedly fed-up with Eto'o's attitude and outspoken ways and if they receive the right offer, they will sell the Cameroon striker this summer.

It's not really 'whack' - if you don't believe a player will fit in at your club then it doesn't matter how good they are on paper.

I have full faith in Wenger to come up with the goods. I don't think there will be a 'superstar' signing though.

It's clear that Eto'o, for all his attributes, is a problem player. He is unpopular with the other players at Barca, and Wenger is to be congratulated for refusing to bring on board someone who will most likely cause disruption.
Hopefully Wenger will emply the same thought processes when pondering whether to bring back Anelka.

Right now, out of all of the options mentioned, I think the Ajax players seem the best picks.

im not a huge eto'o fan, id rather have someone like anelka. although ryan babel definatly looks to be a rising star. im saddened with henrys leaving but in a way im excited about the prospect of a new styled team. the next few months should definatly be interesting.

Quite honestly, I can't believe any club would even consider signing Anelka. It's been proven over and over that he wants a new club every season and a half - for a huge signing-on fee. He's talented, that's without question, but with every club he visits he spends one good season and then an average one cos he's "unsettled". I wouldn't go near him with a barge pole of any length - he's probably the worst of many parasites in the modern game.

And for those who've seen Babel, surely it's obvious that right now he's not the solution. Maybe in 3 years time, but right now he's not the finisher you'd want. I'd go for a home-proved product like Kevin Doyle, available at a reasonable rate and proven in the English leagues.

O no doubt. Im sure hell fix the spots. As he did with henry, Patrick and Dennis hell find us another gunner. No doubt. Just cant wait till next season. Does he or does he not sign a new contract.

Doyle would be a top quality player at a fairly bargain price for any club, but i dont think Reading would let him go without a fight or a decent wad of cash...especially after losing Sidwell.

Alan Smith anyone?

Alan Smith?! That guy is so average up front he's resorted to trying to be a midfielder.
I'm as gutted as any arsenal fan to see Henry go, but theirs no point whinging about it now. I think every1 is forgetting about Theo Walcott, in a couple of seasons hes gna b incredible. Until then we need a marquee striker otherwise Fabregas and Wenger will be out the door next season.
And no we don't need any more midfielders. and why does every1 keep saying we nedd wide midfielders, Ljungberg rosicky and Hleb r all quality out wide and Wenger is going to use Theo there this season as well. Also Van Persie can play there.
We don't ned another average striker like Alan Smith, we need quality. Bring on Fernando Torres
