Arsenal 2023/24

Liverpool and Man City will both drop points at some stage, I don't think either will win 8 on the trot, and we are unlikely to as well. 
We just need to focus on our games, every one is a final, and hope for the best.

You're right, Utd are garbage these days but they'll be up for it, no doubt. With a bit of luck they beat Chelsea this morning without injuries or suspensions as they'll still have some belief that they can sneak into Europe next season.

Such an important 3 points. I only saw the second half, but was impressed to see us soak up so much pressure only to score two more. In years gone by that 'soaking up pressure' would more resemble desperate defending where conceding a goal was almost inevitable, but the boys did well.

Great result. Think I heard that Brighton had only lost once at home this year.

That is an amazing result for us! Keeps us top of the league and now the title is in our hands, we dont need anyone to drop points at all, just keep winning (which is harder than it sounds I know).,

Spurs and Man U would be the two games in our run in that worry me the most.

Seems crazy how close we are but also how far away it feels.

Already nervous for tomorrow mornings match. Too many nightmares from this fixture 

Yep very bad memories and regardless of league form European knockout games are always different as the Porto tie showed. Very nervous of the Kane narrative which seems to be in the script too. This is a team used to winning who have won a trophy 13 seasons in a row and are now facing their last chance of a trophy his season with Spurs legend Kane desperate to end his career drought. They will come out firing. Wouldn't expect anything other than nervy and stressful 90 minutes tomorrow.

Lads it's a Champions League Quarter Final. It's meant to be nervy. That's the whole point of being in it.

looks like our nerves rubbed off on the players. very unsettled performance. Still looked like the only team who were going to win it but we never found that final pass. 
pretty disappointed with the last play by Saka. he should have tried to score rather than playing for a pen.

2-2 was an fair result I guess, the pens are the two questionable moments for me. Not sure there was a lot of contact in the BM pen, looked more like their attacked tripped himself. Saka was totally looking for contact but Meuer still stuck his leg out to make the block/tackle/ Saka could have made more of an effort to go around the keeper but ti was still a pen that should have been given.

Not the best result, but were in it and can go there feeling confident I think. 
Im easy on what happens from here. If we win, great, if we lose, at least I will quickly be rid of this god awful Bein Sports app!!!! Damn it is bad. 
Have to sit through a timer on the screen that counts down right to the second for kick off, before I can actually view the coverage, whats that about, I can't even see the teams being named and them walking out???
Crashed during casting 4 times during the game. Then I was on edge at the end, waiting to see if it was going to cut me off like the Porto game, frantically searching back through the thread for AJCs explanation on how to get around that if it happens. Thankfully it didnt this time.

Just get on Vipbox mate. I use it when i have to watch at work and it has never let me down.

Disappointed with the goals conceded but at least we've got out of a first leg against them still in the tie. Difficult to see us winning there.  We know Kane will score at least one. But in a one off game I guess there's still a chance. 
Just such a shame that calamity of a first goal led to more panic from our usually calm defense. No need for the keeper to go tearing out to the halfway line there when he was never getting near the ball. If he stays back in a position for Gabriel to pass back to him there's no danger. Situation was still salvageable from Gabriel though.  Under that pressure you just hoof it into the stand there and then everyone can get back. 
Probably fair result overall.

While poor tonight, I don’t see us as that much of under dogs for the 2nd leg. We just need to turn up in our league form and we should/could win. Bayern played well tonight but haven’t shown that that much this season. 

Yeah if we learn lessons from yesterday and keep up our league form with a win over Villa on Monday morning we can definitely head to Munich with confidence we can progress. 

“These are the foogin standards.” Can only imagine how frustrated the team will be feeling after that result, but they are now painfully aware of what’s required at this level. I kind of like that if we want to progress we have to get a result in Munich, doing it the hard way shows we are worthy of being in a CL semi.

To be fair, I dont think this level is anything special. We beat Liverpool and ManC at home this season, both of which I think are better than Bayern this season, and stakes were just as high in those games. 
This is our level now. 
Two silly mistakes, two goals conceded, out of character for us this season, potentially may cost us the tie. But if we play as well as we are capable of in the 2nd leg, we can progress. 

Villa has a real spoil the party mood to it. They’ve been in horrid form of late and we need to rotate. Hope we sneak one early then close up shop. 

Unbelievable. An injury/suspension list as long as your arm and they win by 2.

Got what we deserved. Poor all game. Take a miracle to win the league from here.

Only good thing that came out of that weekend was Liverpool losing as well.
5 to go, need City to draw a couple of times, but we need to win every one of them.

It almost feels like it would have been better for us if Liverpool hadn’t lost. It just made it feel like there was so much at stake and everything felt more tense and panicked like this was THE chance and with every minute we didn’t score it slipped further away. We know the likelihood is Man City cruise home with maximum points from here. This feels a bit like some of those Wenger seasons when we’d go out of everything in the same week.

Makes me very scared for the CL game.
