https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/may/03/arsenal-lose-invincibles-branding-after-lehmann-acquires-rights-for-30000

Bit of a weird one. Lehmann has bought the trademark to 'the Invincibles' ahead of the 20th anniversary because apparently we didn't have it.

I must be a thick cod because how can you trademark words?

I'm still gonna call them the Invincibles. Sue me ya mad German bastard.

Didn't watch this morning. Couldn't stomach it if we dropped points to that pile of sharke. Glad we saw out the win and at the very least are in the running come the final day.

I think we were all hoping for a similar result to the Crystal Palace versus United game but it was never going to happen. They have their backs against the wall, have a desperate manager, history on their side at home, and they were always going to be up for it. I’ll take a 1-0 win away at Old Trafford any day.

Can’t believe I’m supporting Spurs on Tuesday. I do love Ange so hope he can pull something out of the fire.

There is now a goal difference of three between us and city. GD only matters if they draw a game so that leaves them one game to claw it back. We’ll need to put Everton away.

Well whatever happens from here, the team can hold their heads up high. If we beat Everton and finish with 89 points, you cant ask for too much more.
Fantastic nerve on the run-in, winning a series of tough fixtures to stay in the hunt.

Doubt you will beat Chelsea, Spurs and Utd

Only good thing that came out of that weekend was Liverpool losing as well.
5 to go, need City to draw a couple of times, but we need to win every one of them.

I doubted it too

Missed this mornings game, hate monday morning ewarly starts! But it looks like we did what we had to and came away with the 3 points. Back to the top we go waiting/hoping for Spurs to do us a solid on Wednesday. As much as travel and time played isnt such a factor when the squads are so big, City have at least played 3 games in the space of 2 weeks, so maybe they'll be getting a little jaded? (clutching I know).
I'm gonna hate supporting spurs on Wednesday but a draw would be great.

Could do with Liverpool pumping Villa tomorrow to keep Spurs top four hopes alive. Really can't see them getting anything off City though given the two teams respective form.

Got up to watch the game, well done gunners.

Going to watch the spurs game and hopefully they can nick a lead early. If they draw we will win the league

Stressful game as it was always going to be.  Feels special to win up there when it comes so rarely. Just such a shame it feels a bit futile.  But we've now won the most games we've ever won in a season. More than the Invicibles which kind of puts things into perspective. At least we've made them have to win it this time and not played into last season's narrative again.

Trossard is a special player. There will be regrets over the Villa one, but generally the best finisher at the club. Very reminiscent of Freddie in 2002 in this run in. Brilliant January signing. Said it before but maybe the kind of January signing that might have helped Wenger get over the one for one of those titles that slipped away when we needed some reinforcement.

6 points against ManU.
4 points against Spurs, Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool.
Unbeaten against the "big 6".
If we are to lose the title, we potentially lost it in those two consecutive defeats to West Ham and Fulham on Dec 29/Jan 1. Should've been bankers, at home in the sun against West Ham, up 1-0 early against Fulham, we got complacent.
Small margins.

You could point to any of the ten games we've dropped points in as being decisive. End of the day 89 points and 28 wins is no mean feat. We've done well, particularly since the turn of the new year. May well be that it isn't quite enough.

City also right up our arse goal difference wise now as well. Even if they draw with Spurs they could easily pump West Ham and overtake us unless we also beat Everton convincingly.

Just saw the extended highlights. Casemiro's positioning for our goal was atrocious. If he was where he should have been Havertz would have been offside but he was a mile behind the play.

They're 3-1 up, risking the jinx but this is going just the way we need it to. Now for Spurs to fight for their top 4 dreams, hopefully Ange gives them the not fudgeing spiders speech.

I get not wanting us to win but Spurs haven't even got Europa secured for themselves have they? Unless I've worked it out wrong Newcastle could still pull level on points and have a significant goal difference advantage. And if Man United win the FA Cup final (albeit unlikely but it's a one off knockout game) they'll take the Europa spot from 6th. So is it still in Spurs own best interests to not throw the game?

And considering how long it took us to get back in the CL and how crucial it was to push on, surely you try if there's a chance. Especially when teams like Chelsea and Man United could get their acts back together next season.

I know it's hopeless and they'll probably lose 5-0. Just struggling to see how losing on purpose is in their own best interests.

The wheels have well and truely fallen off at Liverpool, not the best way to finish the season especially when your manager is signing off.
So now spurs have nothing to play for? They are 5th and cant get higher nor can they be caught.
Or can they get fourth if the win against City and then beat SHU?

They are 5 points behind Villa with 2 games to go while Villa have 1. 4th is still possible for them with 2 wins. 6th (and missing Europa if United win the FA Cup) is also still possible with 2 losses. It's just never in a team's own interests to lose.
I'm sure the players don't feel the same about rivalries as the fans and would want to get into the CL.

I hear you. Earlier I messaged a mate “how are we looking” with ‘we’ referring to spurs.

0-0 at the break. Amazing spurs defending to deny a goal. Would’ve been offside anyway but the players weren’t to know.

At least puts us out of our misery and we can relax now. Is there anything more Spurs than their highlight of the season being celebrating a loss that confirms another season out of the CL? That and Kane moving to a one team league and still not winning anything.

At least for the first half I had some hope that Spours were gonna make City work for this, but they caved after Haaland scored. I guess the league is gone now as I doubt the Hammers are gonna do us any favours. I agree with LG though, the fact that we know City have got so many breach claims against them is frustrating, winning the league retrospectively will suck.

Bugger. Need a final day miracle then.
Unlikely but will get up for it on the off chance we get some history!
The worst would be if City went behind and then repeated the QPR Aguero drama.

Arsenal were a 41 per cent chance to win the league before the spurs game, now 16 per cent.

I've put £2 on:
Arsenal win
City draw
Chelsea win
Sp*rs loss
Would mean we win the PL while Chelsea finish above Sp*rs knocking them out of Europe. It's paying close to £250 but what a day that would be eh?

Would be amazing.
It doesn't quite knock Spurs out of Europe. They would be 6th and if Man United win the FA Cup final (albeit unlikely, but it's a one off game) they would take the Europa spot from 6th knocking Spurs down to the Conference League.
Just find it so ridiculous cheering and celebrating a loss which confirms you to a tough period paying off a stadium without CL money. Even felt sorry for Ange seeing how furious he was in his post match interview where he virtually said people inside the club had told him to lose.

If Man City can lose to Wolves and Villa and draw with Chelsea and Palace then it's not impossible for West Ham to snatch something from them.

It's not likely but the dream's not over yet.

Unfortunately other results mean they can't reach Europe so have nothing to play for other than Moyes final game I guess. In his interview the other day he couldn't bring himself to say they would "give it everything" and stopped at "professional." It will be 3-0 and done by half an hour.
