Sorry guys still haven't got to the updates, should get there today! In the meantime, Round 25 picks, we have a special round...

Man City v Arsenal (Monday morn):

Pick HT and FT scores, 3 Arsenal players, and 3 Man City players.

I thought we should do Man City players as well because there's a pretty strong chance that Arsenal players won't clock up many points... not to be pessimistic of course! Hahahaha. I won't do head to heads this time.

Pick results only:

Chelsea v Huddersfield (Sunday morn)

Here's my picks, structure yours like this:

Man City (1) 2 Arsenal (0) 3

Auba, Laca, Torreira

Aguero, Sterling, Sane

I'm going to get super tricky and put this in ahead of the latest round score updates, and then update those, stand by...

So just doing this bit now. The result was that Arsenal exited the FA Cup in the 4th Round, 5 points awarded for any that picked that correctly.

How the f*ck did Maitland-Niles give the ball away that much and get MOTM? Far too much weight on one assist!

Brumbys joins Downey at the top... perhaps should be ahead on alphabetical order but I gave Downey the honour, as the long time incumbent...

Here's a brief explanation of how they do it:

https://www.whoscored.com/Explanations

They update live, every 30 seconds, with 200 different actions taken into account that can affect the score. When the assist was made, Maitland-Niles rating went up by 0.74.  That was the biggest jump in his rating in the game, but he trended upward right throughout, so must have been doing a lot of things right. Not arguing against you at all brumbys, just trying to make sense of it all, looks like there is a lot to the algorithm.

I would love to read into the algorithm detail properly but don't have the time right now, maybe at some point!

I support this logic.

You know Brumbys I really have to question what this whoscored algorithm is doing. Yes we lost to BATE this morn, but look at these stats:

Arsenal are in blue. The only stat BATE bettered us on is tackles, but that's obviously because we had 76% possession (!).

To then see the player ratings blows my mind. BATE literally out-score us in player ratings man-for-man, in every single position. Yes they won, I get that, and yes we didn't score, so our attackers were a bit off, but I can't understand how a midfield can be so dominated, and yet out-score their rivals. Their fullbacks got done like a dinner all night long, the number of balls in from wide areas was massive, and yet their fullbacks out-score ours (Kolasinac was our highest rated player, but still outscored significantly by his opposite).

So I guess the result, and a clean sheet, means a hell of a lot to these ratings.
