why quit with only a couple of games left in the season though? surely you could finish the season and then change to whichever new club (man city is my guess) who wants him

He's fed up with turning pigs ears into silk purses (or whatever the saying is) and wants to go to a job where he'll have cash to spend. City's the obvious place (esp if Ray Ranson takes over). He could only achieve so much at Notlob and he's done all he can there.
Unfortunately for Fat Sam, I think his real talent lies in getting the best out of a rag 'n' bone assortment of players and having a load of cash to throw around is not his style, so I can see it all ending in tears for him, wherever he goes.
