Brilliant!  They can join your list of worst football teams then!

Come on you Clarets!

My dad was born in Blackburn and was a Rovers fan his whole life so I've always followed their progress.

It was too hard to be a fan though back when they were in the old 2nd division and you only saw 1st division stuff on TV. They always seemed to finish 5th and just miss out on promotion until that guy Walker came along and bought the club.

depends really at first i was quite happy as he is a decent player but i fear he may be slowing down near the end of his career but could be a good asset

Good to see you put your hand up bro.

Count me as one more Blackburn fan - through thick and thin.  Having Ryan in the team is an added bonus for a Kiwi.  Now all we need is for Chris Killen to join the right half of Glascow!!

i'm wondering what the Blackburn fans here and  in the UK think about him bweing relaeased forthe first two Olympic  games

we have able replacments at the back to cover for his absence and i beleive it will only help him i know a few pother blackburn fans in england think the same to as to be honest he has had a poor run with injuries and whatnot and this will only boost his confidence and his match fitness even more so im all for it

Pretty good day for Rovers overnight, bought Paul Robinson to replace Friedel (off to Villa), and just beaten Benfica 3-2 in a friendly, and 7-6 on pens after the game, Nelsen getting the winning pen.

Waiting to see how the Chilean they are buying turns out, hoping he lives up too the hype.

Seen some clips on youtube of him, he looks very good, but we will see.

Sporting 2 Rovers 1 and lost the pens after the game, but not too bad a result, given it was a weak side fielded

No Nelsen, would think he must be heading off for the Olympics now.

Good win today, despite Robinson, if he doesnt start the season well, I can see the fans starting to get on his back quickly

rumors of us watching Joaquin and Olic atm, would love it if both these come off, would be great to watch, need to sell McCarthy first for Olic, but Joaquin would be an awesome replacement for Bentley

The club is a mess atm. Last couple weeks they been close to signing a couple strikers, now they have dropped those names and looking at Luca Toni and Yakubu. The way the new owners are running the club, we won't sign anyone tomorrow and are destined to be relegated.

i actually didn't think they played too bad vs everton. created a lot of chances, final touch just lacking though.

That's the thing, we can create chances, but cant convert them.We need a striker, we can't have another season with Jason Roberts leading the line. Goodwillie looked good in Scotland, but its a big step up.

We had a few good years with Benni McCarthy (before he lost interest, and got fat) and Santa Cruz, but since then the strikers signed haven't performed.

how about ruben rochina? got those 2 goals against wednesday in the cup. probably do need an established prem league striker though. carlton cole from west ham?

He is one to look out for in the future, but when facing the real chance of relegation, you need someone able to perform now. His transfer last season is the reason for some of the problems recruiting for this season it seems.

The new owners walked away for working with an agent after he charged 1.6 mil in fee's for the 400k transfer of Rochina to Rovers. They were shocked and have been trying to do the transfers themselves and been all over the place with so many ideas. Now they have linked up with another super agent Pini Zahavi, so your guess is as good as mine of who we will end up with.
