For those of us with an inexplicable (or explicable) interest in Brechin... currently flying highish in third place in SL Div Two... must win the next few games to keep in touch with the leaders (Raith are 9 points ahead but BC have two games in hand) and hope they drop some... just got arsed outta the Cup by St Mirren - tho 3-1 to Premier Div team I s'pose is to be expected...

Here's a couple of links too:

The official club site (and possibly the poorest website I've seen this millenium).

The "100% unofficial" fansite (and looks a shed-load better, though still a bit 1900's lol)

i've had a soft spot for Brechin City since the mid 70's when a college mate told me about them and Meadowbank Thistle, so for a bit of fun we kept an eye on thir respective results.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Good work Surge.  Time us Brechin part-timers got serious.  Do you think the Nix would be interested in "twinning" with Brechin?

I was going to say on the "why do you support your club" thread that the article I read about Brechin showed one side of their stadium as a hedge!  But thought no one would believe me.  However, Wikipedia confirms the point http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brechin_City_F.C.

I would have to raise a mild objection to the Nix twinning with Brechin, on moral grounds.

However, twinning with the mighty Partick Thistle FC would be another kettle of fish altogether.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I didn't know Michael O'Neill had been the Brechin manager for the last two years.

I met O'Neill once at mass in Edinburgh when he was at Hibs. I was back from uni in Northern Ireland at the time, and told him I was at Coleraine - his home town, and IIRC his first club. He asked if I had been to any of the games, to which I replied 'No', he responded - 'Probably a good thing - you're no missing much!'

I've got a Meadowbank Thistle pin on my Hibs scarf in a drawer back home in Edinburgh.

I remember signing a petition against the move to Livingston - but in truth they've come on leaps and bounds since then and probably wouldn't have achieved the same as Meadowbank.

I used to hate going to Meadowbank, pitch was about 2 miles from the stands.

I've hated Ferrante/Meadowbank/Livingston ever since

p.s. Can I look forward to sharing a glass of dry sherry with you on Sunday, Mr Eejit?

That would tip me over the (h)edge. Threads on Morton, Brechin, Colchester, Norwich....

That's it, I'm starting my own Partick Thistle thread.

Indeed - which reminds me - I need to get my name down for the Newtown Bevvy Bus - I plan on doing the TW & Nix double header

Could make for some pretty interesting goal celebrations.  You know, jumping over the hedge or running alongside pretending to trim it.  Why not have one at the RoF?  It would look very nice on the empty side of the ground behind Ricki on the bench.  Would look better than all those yellow seats.

Indeed it is - Meadowbank Stadium on London Road in Edinburgh - I played 5 a side on the astroturf pitches there every Friday afternoon for 2 or 3 years whilst at high school.

This is a bandwagon I'll jump on, not already having a scottish team to support.

What are the chances of forming the worlds largest Brechin City supporters group, including Scotland?
