Sunderland AFC just forked out 9mil for a new keeper.  That is a lot of money.    I hope that it is a good buy.

Has anyone heard much about Craig Gordon?  I do apologise to all the Scots out there but I had never heard of him until now.

Us (Aston Villa) and Sunderland were i talks with him. I dont think he even thought about talking to us. Not suprised, i dont expect him to come to the Villa because Sorenson wouldnt have given up the #1 without a fight.

As mentioned above, they'll certeinly need a good keeper! Lucky for them gordon is one of these. I still cant see Sunderland surviving the season with their current signings. Richardson is a waste of space in any premiership team. Believe it will be Derby at the rear followed by Sunderland and Fulhammighty_leeds2007-08-10 00:56:16

I'd rate Craig Gordon as the best British keeper right now, way better than Throbinson, in fact only Shay Given could compete, and, of course, he aint really British.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

Well I got to back them.  I really think we can do well this year.  Roy Keane has been there and done this before (as a player) and knows how to win football games.  I'm sure he will prepare as much as possible.

If we make 17th, which i'm sure we can.  I'll be one happy fan.

Whats wrong with Darren Ward?

Ward isn't up to the Prem.  Good CCC at best.

Gordon is top class - you could see against Spurs that he was not only good positionally, but also shouted well and inspired confidence in the defence.  Keeper is the most important position in the side, you spend whatever you have to in order to get the player you need.

Gordon is definately worth the money, he was a key reason Scotland managed that fantastic 1-0 win over France last season - Paul Robinson amd Chris Kirkland when he was at his peak (IE when he was 20 at Coventry) are the only other keepers in the UK that would come close to him

Robinson is garbage.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Not sure if garbage is quite the word, but he's certainly overrated.

If it wasn't for Ben Foster, Gordon would've been bought by United I'd say. Hearts treated him pretty badly and he was very good to the club from what i've read. Seems like a good guy
