Bye Bye Gretna

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Ha Ha. "Living The Dream"? My arse. Gretna are gone. Normally I wouldn't take much pleasure in a team going tits up but this mob have been a joke since they came into the Scottish League. They were the football version of Pop Idol and they can now go back to playing at the level at which they really belong. Good riddance.

They had a good run to get to where they got to it is a bit of a shame, but when it actually came to the SPL they were hopeless.

Ha Ha! We're not ready to go up yet. This season will be the big promotion push.

Hamilton won Div 1 so they go into the SPL. Nobody else will go into the SPL 'cos Gretna were being dropped into Div 3, so a new team will be going into Div 3. There's 4 or 5 in the running for that spot.

Front runners are Spartans and Annan Athletic. Both pass ground requirements and have applied along with two others. Spartans have a good Scottish cup record regularly beating Div 3 and Div 2 teams over the years. Annan is in the same region as Gretna so would be the obvious choice though.
